Thinking About Purchasing An Mz

Recommended Posts

Well I want to purchase an MZ but the thing is with the quality of KM's going down how are the MZ's quality still?I really dont have much money to spend... If the quality of MZ isn't the same they use to be like the KM, then I will just wait and purchase a Syrian a little later because I also do want a Syrian. Edited by newjacksm

As i stated before, get a Syrian! happy.gif

MZ's are all-in-all just generic, there's absolutely nothing special about them. KM's are pretty crappy now, but still have higher quality parts then generic rigs and MZ hookah. KM's are getting more expensive and also crappier; people will still buy them though, they have a brand-name (remember we live in America).

The older AF rigs are nicer than the newer ones, but the newer ones are still much nicer than anything you will be able to buy anywhere in the US for awhile.

Give AFonline a call and maybe they have them in stock? I think they have a phone number..

I really do not see the point in spending 80 bucks on a MZ rig when that 80 bucks can go towards either 2 generic egyptians or a brass Syrian rig.

just wait a little and some vendors will get more syrians. they are more beautiful than egyptians at least in my opinion. short downstems is the only thing with them, so they take a little more water in the vase.

I don't get the whole "shorter downstems suck" thing?

It doesnt suck. just trips people out at first, cuz they think something is wrong lol. at least i did when i bought my first syrian.

Ok cause I have heard it many times, and I don't understand what it is that makes it so bad to some people! It's no different than any other hookah. sleep.gif

I completely agree with you regarding the Syrians as well. Hopefully HC or someone will get their hands on some sexy brass rigs in the near future!

I own two MZ's and I love them both to death. Absolutely gorgeous and top notch quality. Both are well over a year old and still shine and smoke like they are brand new. Amazing pipes and cheap to boot (at gothookahs anyway. Everywhere else is overpricing MZ's)

Do you own a mz?

Ha why would I own something like that? I have gone through 4 of them, they all are just the same - lightweight, sub-par construction, thin gauge, and just "generic" quality.

The worst of all of them was the Safari.. god it was terrible. Edited by Hippo_Master

what were the other models you had though?

The 48" model I had, it was way too tall, and it's weight did not match it's looks. very Tight draw. Hose port and Purge valve rusted,

I had a Nefertiti, the welds were really crappy, and were noticeably shoddy, also a tight draw. The downstem rusted.

The Oasis looked nice, best looking one my MZ, the ice chamber rusted out after normal use for 3 weeks.

And the Sahara was the worst, it tipped with the weight of a Nammor hose. Used it once.

I got suckered in every time, people saying that one model was better than the other, etc. The Perpetual River is apparently the best, but how good can it be? Every model is the same, the smaller they get the lighter they get though.

Yup which is why I try to keep people away from them. You can get a generic hookah on Caravansarai on ebay for 40 bucks and save 30-40 bucks and get the same or better hookah.

There's no way an MZ can feel sturdier than a KM, if you cut the hose ports off and set them on a balance scale the KM would fall to the tabletop.

There is no difference between MZ's and any other generic hookahs.

ok think of it this way

a hookah is like a car if you treat it well and do regular maintenance it will keep up. my mz all the welds are great and it is an amazing pipe and it is solid
and yes hippo with the current quality of imported kms it is possible for a mz to feel sturdier than a km. and there is a diff between mz and generic pipes

I would have to agree that the newer MZ's need more care to keep them in good shape, but they smoke just as well as a KM in my opinion.

I have two Hookah Brother's brand hookah (formed Magdy Zidan) and they've lasted YEARS under much less than ideal conditions. So yes, you could say there was a decrease in quality when they started using stainless steel for their pipes. However if you look at the market, who hasn't? (for the most part)

hookah brothers were mzs branded for hookah brothers. i have an mz (female top) from 2000. its crazy good quality. looks brand new. ive smoked from the horas b, didn't like the pull. the safari was by far the worst. the stem was short and water ended the hose port non stop
