Burnt Sheesha Questions

Hi everyone i have been a hookkah enthusiest for about eight months or so and things were going great
i have an mya staff hookah a modern bowl and a modern bowl with a wind cover attatched to it.

up until just recently i was gettin fatty rips but all of a sudden natta
i was using the jap coals (2 little squares) everytime and things were going alright
the bowls didnt last too too long but it tatsed good. by the way i smoke fusion tobbacco.

now all of a sudden the bowls are lasting alot shorter and dont know why. i was wondering if anyone could help.

this is how i do it now after reading up about coal techniques and heat management.

Try more holes, everywhere.. they don't need to be in any particular or astrological order.. just lots of holes around your bowl. Cut that large piece of coal in half and place your 3 coals in a triangle and rotate it about 45 degrees as necessary.

Aside from that, experimentation.

Edit: Also, the density that you pack your bowl will affect it's longevity.

Coals in the middle is usually a pretty bad idea and leads to burning. Leave your coals along the edges. If you don't get as much smoke as you'd like, add another coal, but again, along the edges and not in the middle.
