HC doesn't carry those particular ones anymore, or anything made with that same style....and neither does anyone else that i know of? am i doomed to buy a geanie base? are there other alternatives!? please tell me some one has some source that i do not yet know of...please.

What is left on HC in the replacement vases section is most likely all we are gonna see, and nothing in the future. According to sources they say it is too expensive to import those vases now, so they will no longer be in circulation. If you do see any of them in the near future they are most likely knock offs.

Call them, they have more not listed on their website.

Romanian stuff isn't that much cheaper (although it is lower quality). I think the conversation went this way:

Buyer:We like your jars, we are making lots of money with them, they are the best quality there is. Everyone respects the name Bohemian.

Bohemian Glass manfacturer:Thank you, we are glad to have the work, this is has been a tradition in our country for hundreds of years. There are some 5th generation glass blowers here.

Buyer: we need you to make cheaper jars.

BGM: We make our glass traditionally in the finest quality possible. We won't compromise for making 2nd best quality glass.

Buyer: We need cheaper jars since all the buyers thrive on locked in price points so we can make more money.

BGM: We won't do it.

Buyer: Romania will make them $.10 cheaper and 25% lower quality...we'll have to go to them.

BGM: See if we care. We won't give up our heritage, our pride, our quality. This is our lives, not a negotiation.

Buyer: well, we'll see what Romania can do for us.

BGM: Don't let the door hit you in the butt when you leave.

Buyer: No problem, we already sold and replaced your door with a Chinese import.

BGM: We'll make another one, we're craftsmen.

Buyer: We'll sue you if you do, for infringement of Chinese rights. We have price points we have to maintain.

BGM: Can you just leave? You're almost as bad as the Soviet Politburo.

Buyer: OK, but we win this round. You'll be begging us to take the jars from you...

Its possible the Bohemian glass people got shafted or annoyed and don't want to deal with hookah industry. What happened when the price of Japanese charcoal went up..."Oh, the importer is going out of business." When somebody in the hookah industry decides to try and hold out, they always have a lame excuse as to why they won't be getting more.

Those are the most beautiful bases ever Mitchard. I have been looking all over for one since I saw them on the Nour. Does anyone have any idea where I could get one?
