Phunnel Bowl

I am planning on ordering one of these shortly due to the high praise all of you here have given them,
i jus dont know wich one to order.

I went on to hookahjohn.com and saw that there were three sizes Large, meduim, and small

can someone please tell me how much each one will hold?

i am looking for one to hold about 20-30 grams thanks guys

the small is the closest you will get. Mine holds about 35 grams maybe a little more

I bought a small. I was kinda pissed when it came in because I wanted the purple one and they sent the turkish brown, but then I looked at the shipping slip and it turned out I forgot to specify the color, so my bad.

My small holds like 40-50 grams, as rated. Medium is rated at 60-70, large is rated 70-100. Click here if you want to verify. I couldn't get my phunnel to smoke correctly with that much fucking shisha in there, I was getting crap smoke and wasted a good 80-90% of the shisha. I got a tea light candle, removed the candle, and made a scalli mod. With this, I was it took the capacity down to about 15-20 grams and the session last like an hour and I only wasted a lot less. By waste, I mean unburned shisha in the bottom. I personally either am done after an hour or want to change flavors anyway, so this is perfect for me. Plus, with the mod, the smoke is sooo much better, thicker, and tastier. I think everyone on the board here would agree with the small phunnel. Edited March 11, 2009 by delSol_si

I can't get a session to last more than like an hour, it still smokes after an hour, just not as well, maybe I am just picky when it comes to the amount and density of the smoke.

Take a tea light candle, take the candle out, cut triangles or arches in the edges. There are several ways to do this. Here is a youtube vid explaining it a bit better. I personally cut triangles like the guy in the vid, except I cut further up than he does (ie. taller triangles) and I cut more then him. After I cut the triangles, I use my fingers to try and push the middle of the candle thing up (trying to make it dome-like as possible, then place it over the hole as shown. I was going to order an actual mod, but they are like 6 bucks and I am cheap. I don't know who came up with this idea, but it was a great one (I am guessing scalliwag maybe?). The small for sure. I was using a medium for so long, and was wasting a lot of shisha for nothing. The small works great for solo smokes, and anything with a couple people around. If there are 6-8 people over and most of us are smoking, i'll bust out the medium.

A mod is only important if you want to half-fill the bowl with something other than Tangiers.

If small sounds like the right size.

Tangiers is less dense than other brands, so I would guess your 20-30g size is about the size of a small phunnel for Tangiers. If you are talking Al Fahker or Starbuzz or something then you would need a mini-phunnel or a small phunnel and mod.

You could also buy a vortex bowl, but you cant smoke tangiers in a vortex

What kind of tobacco are you using? I use mostly starbuzz and it lasts a looooong time. If I use Nahkla the session goes bad a lot faster.

Ya, small is the size I use. The best baccy I have smoked out of it is Layalina Raspberry, Kiwi, and Blueberry, Blueberry being the best. The worst has been Layalina Strawberry, got great flavor, but barely any smoke at all. I stick to Layalina simply because it is cheap and Codename067 suggests it. After seeing his videos, his advice became very valuable.

ive been smoking fusion because thats the only stuff my smoke shop sells

Drunk you need to hit up tempe smoke shops they got it all, try some af and nahkla. I have tangiers but as u stated u cant drive so that wont do any good. I can get 3 hours+ on my bowls. Get a small phunnel, nothing bigger. Youll be fine.
