Questions About My Hookah

I just recently purchased my first hookah from a local tobacco shop that carries them. They look exactly like this.

The bowl keeps coming up off the rubber stopper and just barely sits on there lopsided. I am wondering what I could do to prevent this, is it something I did to take bad care of it? I was given nothing in terms of how to care for my hookah when I bought it.

Does the rubber stopper seem to fit on its own into the bowl?

From there you might be able to tell if it needs more pressure of maybe it's just too big for it and might need to either buy a new one or improvise one

Also, those pumpkin hookahs tend to suck. I would recommend investing in a decent one soon if you want to get a nice smoking session out of it.

Well, I have to pretty much push the stopper into the bowl, but it just starts to come right off.

I would try to use it without the stopper first and if not, try to improvise something to make the bowl tighter on the top of the stem such as: a paper towel, piece of carton, etc

Interesting you link me to those, because I had been looking at all three today along with a few others. Thank you for your suggestions. I figured I would need to invest in something a bit nicer.

No prob. As you'll undoubtedly read here - a lot of people think Mya hookas are the best in terms of quality.

I recently bought a Mya Gyro (which might be out of your price range) and it's the best hookah I have ever owned (or smoked out of for that matter):

My guess is that the bowl is crooked, i.e. the hole isn't round. See if the retailer will replace it. Ask for another gasket, too.

make sure all the parts are dry. the top of the stem, the grommet inside and out, and the opening to the bowl. wipe them with paper towels before you put them on. if that fails just use a paper towel as a stopper.

The retailer is pretty terrible Sonthert. They have basically just said "good luck".

I keep everything dry, but I will give everything a once over with paper towels before I attempt it again.

you can skip the rubber gasket and use wet epr towel for the replacement. It will work fine and will mold to the screwed up bowl better than a rubber gasket.
