MeNouA
Hey everyone, Ive been lurking the forums for a while but not posting but I need some help so I decided might as well start posting now Well I love Nakhla DA and the buzz it comes with. I was smoking it today and yesterday with coco-naras cause I just got them and I love them but when using them the shisha starts burning like 15 minutes into the session. I use a mya QT with the standard bowl and set up. My hole pattern is a ring of 12 holes, then a ring of 8, and so on till I reach the middle and I put 1 hole in the middle. I start off with 3 coco-naras and take one off once its started. It smokes fine with good clouds and amazing flavor for like 10 minutes but then starts giving me problems. I'm thinking its my heat management but Nakhla isn't too sensitive so idk what to do. Only one coal would be pointless. I'm asking does anyone know what I can do to make the flavor last and not burn and still get good smoke?I forgot to add this only happens with coco's. When I use exotica squares, the flavor and bowl lasts a long time but I don't like the amount of ash it gives due to the fact that I smoke indoors in my room. Sylren
I always have problems with Nahkla no matter what kind of coals I use. I think less heat is your best option or you could add some glycerine.
mushrat
less heat. all coals burn differently.
SuburbanSmoker
3 coals is wayyyy to much. i use 1 40 mm ql halved with nakhla and it doesnt give me any problems what so ever. I had a similar problem to yours a little while ago and solved it by buying glycerine. made a world of a difference in heat management.
ColibriDon
Try packing the Nakhla a little tighter, stick with two circles of holes, and 3 coco's is fine on a small phunnel for me so you should have the same surface area exposed to the coals as I do. Make sure you have a small portion of the coals hanging off of the bowl. This should give you really nice clouds and flavor. ...Also, DA is an amazing flavor. JOE
rotate coals frequently on the bowl startup this always helps, nakhla gets torched easy
