Km Stems At Hc Vs Other Sources

Recommended Posts

i think it was Eric's post regarding the hookah industry saying that HC was doing more quality control or something? i have the last KM Zakiy coming my way - from HC -and was wondering if there are really any noticeable weight/quality differences? i'm just trying to legitimize the extra 15 to 20 dollars i just spent by buying from them... any comments appreciated (especially you eric) and all those who have felt/smoked the difference first hand (i read mechants post and was slightly worried)

You know something -slightly off, but still on topic- the second wave of ALL the Ice/Chiller hookahs that were released here in stats were noticeably different than the first original stems.

I can prove this because I have 3 Chillers from the original release and 1 Zakey. The newer chillers are much lighter and the ice chamber looks different.

Wish I knew some insight details.

They are all the "same" stem, just it seems a few people have gotten Screwed in regards to construction (the dude here who posted a thread with pics, it was a sad, sad sight). HC is very reliable, as was stated by Eric, and I would trust them.

Before you smoke it, make sure, on the tip of the downstem, that there is NOT a bolt. Second, make sure it's airtight. Third, make sure that the Hose-port is soldered on well, and relatively clean.

If there is something you are unsure about, post pictures on here and many of us will be able to tell you what you need to know.

KM's have a large number of different styles that sometimes find their way into the states. These models can differ even from a hookah of the same model. Edited by Hippo_Master

Yeah I noticed the same thing, they really did not have the same feel or look. They were MUCH lighter. Like I said in my post about this topic the 31" ICE was lighter then my 26" faridat stem.

Like most things, once demand goes up, companies cut corners and try to make more profit.

There are still very high quality rigs in Egypt, KM is just (apparently) shipping all of the crappy models to the US.

Also Counterfeits are coming up to, I think the guy who posted the crappy looking KM had a counterfeit.

uhh, the bolt doesn't mean its bad...

where do people come up with this stuff...the original trimetal has a nut. the old chillers have nuts too...

QFT.  My old tri-metal has the nut/bolt style end on the down stem and it's amazing quality and weighs a ton more than my other KM that has the flared end.

If you don't end up liking it return it before you smoke out of it, Eric has stated that HC is getting in a new shipment of KM's sometime right around now and that George went out of his way to make sure they were the best of the best. At least I'm pretty sure it was Eric that said it lol, but either way.

I thought I said MZ did more quality control...sorry if there's any confusion. There a number of excellent retailers to purchase from, including Hookah Company.

George does pick over the hookahs he buys pretty closely...I don't know if other guys do, but George is pretty selective.
