JDHarding
I just got a box of these 'cause I wanted to try them out. I lit them on my coil burner for about 5 minutes, and put them on the bowl. I'm getting funny flavors from them. Am I supposed to wait for the silver flint to come off first? When I took them off of the burner, they were on FIRE. I thought I probably shouldn't keep heating them or they'd break apart. How many of these coals do other Canary users use with a small phunnel bowl filled with Tangiers? Sonthert
Its not the silver as much as it is the silver coating done being lit. The lighting silver gives a stinky metallic smell/taste. Let the coal light red all the way around, then try it.
