Ashing Coco Naras

Recommended Posts

This'll probably sound dumb to people that already knew, but I used to ash my coco naras by banging them against the ash tray. Then I tried just holding them in my tongs and blowing on the top side of them, then flipping them over onto that cleanly ashed side. This has helped SOOOO much. I had no idea I could just blow the ash away. It leaves them so clean, too. laugh.gif

Yeah go ahead and start telling me what a dumbass I am. Hey I didn't know. tongue.gif

Drop mine in the coal carrier instead of the tray. Scrap ash off the bowl with tongs, Put the coals back on black side up. Wind cover for 30-40 seconds and good to go.

When I'm smoking I drop the coals off the tray to get the ash off them. I then take the bowl off and blow through the part that connects to the pipe to get any ash off the top foil etc quite a bit of smoke comes out the bowl. At first its tricky because the bowl is really hot but after a while your fingers get used to it.

I don't like banging the coals in the tray because if there's ash already in the tray, it tends to stick to the coal. I'm more a fan of knocking the coal gently against the stem of my bowl. This works like a charm.

Blowing on the coal works well if you're outside or have concrete floors. For smoking on carpet (which I do), that method is not suitable.

the best ashing method is dropping them on your carpet and losing your security deposit I do it all the time smile.gif

Aaaah yeah. That's a great technique. I also like dropping them down between couch cushions and against drapes. That really gets all the ash off.

I love watching the noob kids@hookah bars blowing the crap out of their coals till they're more red than the coals.

I blow on my coals at the local hookah bar because they use japanese coals but don't let them start long enough to burn off the silver coating.

Blowing on coals works well but is a no-go on carpet.
