Tobacco Prices Going Up

pshht 10 bucks a box for nakhla is still incredibly well priced.

I will continue to buy nak, it shud always have been 10 bucks or so a 250g, we are lucky it is and has been so damn cheap for all these years, at least for the us folks.

I think it will prob be 8 bucks, I'm sure HJ knows more than I do, but i don't know if they would really do a 100% increase (well actually a 80% increase b/c of the $1 tax, i get my nak for 5 a box from NH and locally) maybe they will, who knows, we will find out soon enough.

All I know is I am ordering 4 Kilos of nak from NH before this increase, hopefully it won't hurt any shisha companies sales.

ah well. at least, i'm not a huge fan of SB and Nakhla. Nakhla is still worth the price at $10. Can't say I say the same for SB at $20, but I'm not a fan of them anyways (Blue Mist is really good though).

As for a price increase for Tangiers, even at a dollar more, that's still a steal!

PS: how can they increase a tax from Apr 1 and then demand the retailers pay Jan-Mar as well? I mean, laws don't work "backwards", so I assumed it's the same for taxes?

Again, Starbuzz isn't going up in price, from what I've heard, Starbuzz wants to make the retailrs like H-C and H-S take it up the ass rather than pass the increase on. Which would motivate most to dump the line, some might raise prices, but that isn't what Starbuzz wants, because they know they are at the top of that price range people will pay.

We probably won't be raising any prices until April. It's already ridiculous that in Texas we have to pay 40% tax on tobacco and to increase it even more. On the bright side atleast we're not paying Australian tobacco taxes, where it's like 300%.

Its up to the retailers, but the actual price increase they're seeing is $1.25, it would follow that there wouldn't be a markup on tax, but I can't vouch for the idea that there wouldn't be lets say a $2 markup...or $4 for that matter
