frost91
So after acclimating my Blue Gum ball for a week, i decided to try it. The smell wasnt quite perfect but i couldnt wait any longer. The last time i tried Tangiers red tea, it was a disaster. I had harsh smoke and thin smoke. Today, i used an oyster fork, packed the shit out of my small phunnel and started to smoke it. For the first ten pulls, it hurt the back of my throat. After that, it was heaven. Never have i ever smoked a flavor so good. Its amazing. New favorite shisha. I sadly didnt recieve a buzz tho. So for every sob story out there, here is the sucess story . Btw, foil touching the shisha is a ok
inino
its all in the fork. when i started using that little tangiers packing fork my sessions were way better. i will always swear by the fork.
JDHarding
I got some Lucid BGB myself, a bad batch of it that smells like Soy/BBQ sauce, and still it smokes amazingly well and is very sweet. Maybe the bad smell has nothing to do with the flavor.
MechAnt
Eric himself said the BGB smell is a little funky but smokes fineCongrats on nailing the Tangiers, it's all worth it in the end

I acclimated it a week and the smell got weaker. I dunno if it acclimated, or if the overall stench just went away. *shrug*
Sonthert
BGB's flavor will fade after while. The fork is good, but if you successively use the same sheet of foil to pack the tobacco in the bowl until it has the right amount of depression, it works well too. Put tobacco in the bowl, put your piece of foil over the top, press down and rotate. You want a depression in the foil, when the tobacco is packed down well of the width of 1-2 .25 pieces (quarters). If your depression is too much, take the foil off, put more tobacco in, put the foil back on and repeat until you get the desired depression between the top of the bowl and the top of the tobacco. The depression isn't important, its objectively making sure the right amount of tobacco is on there and mashed down is the best way to do that. After you get the right amount of depression, pull the foil tight and poke holes in it.
frost91
btw, i had massive holes and the thing smoked like a beast, seriously did not expect that.
JDHarding
Really? What does Eric have to say about hole size in the foil?I got one of those metal screens that has massive holes in it. Never used it, but seems like maybe massive holes are the way to go?

frost91
I poked a TON of holes, i was scared because the coals were literally on top of the shish, due to the amount of coals, but it turned out pretty well
erufiku
Glad to hear that, I also got Orange Soda smoking perfectly. It's been on the shelf for... a couple of months now? Smokes perfectly now, don't know what it was that I was doing wrong before

Sonthert
Lots of fork holes. I use the fork to poke holes, too. About 150-160 holes.
