Dizzy772
Hey guys, I've had my hookah for about two months or so now, with no problems at all. This week, however, my hookah stopped building thick smoke like it used to. The smoke definitely builds up all the way in the vase, but its thin enough now to where i can still see the stem. i used to NOT be able to see the stem and I'd like to get back to that point. Any ideas on what the problem could be? The stem doesn't seem to have any cracks, nor does the hose, and I've not changed the way I'm smoking, the coals I use, or the brand of shisha i use. chromecarz00
check and double check seals and hose port, listen for air leaks, what shisha nad coals?
SuburbanSmoker
If your applying the same practices you have been using with success in the past you most definently have a leak.
Voski
Is the smoke output the same when it exits your mouth? I have noticed varied smoke density in my base with the same output.
gunsboy
Also, make sure water level and coals management are the same as before.Make sure the hose is not dirty or anything like that.Maybe your lungs are not as good as two months ago .
Dizzy772
Lol I had better not have a leak. How would I check to see if i have one? I've blown into the hose to see if smoke comes out anywhere it's not supposed to, but I've not seen any out of place smoke...
Voski
Take the bowl off and put your finger over the hole. Then try to take a hit if you can't get any air then you have no leaks.
Dizzy772
Yeah, I just did that. No leaks. Dammit, I can't figure this out. You think my shisha's getting old or something? I bought twelve 50-gram boxes when I got the hookah, and I opened them all and put them in ziploc bags. Think the bags are the problem? Maybe I need to add some glycerin? Try adding more coal if you want it to be denser. Or use a windcover.no, it's equally lessened. I have pretty large coals, I usually break them in half when i smoke, so I don't think adding more is a good idea, not a fan of scorched shisha lol

You take off the extra coals. It won't hurt to try just incase something is causing your tobacco to require more heat.
hookah hippie
Perhaps you need to stir up your tobacco a little more and make sure yo are packing it well the problem should be minor if there are no leaks as you say a little practice should fix this problem
ilikemyusername
wait wait whoah, no leak right?you said you have 12 50g boxes...thats 12 shisha's that all smoke differently.

Sonthert
Its a mystery. How often do you smoke? In order, I would think about \:1. Leak. Checking the valve for a ball bearing, the hose, the head, tips, try a different hose, perhaps some debris has dislodged. Sometimes the absence of a leak doesn't mean the air flow hasn't become obstructed. If there is tape under th jar gasket, check to make sure its not floppy and sliding over the hose port.2. Freshness of tobacco. 3. Switching something. Is it a new box of charcoal. Did you recently switch flavors you were smoking? Could the charcoal have gotten wet? 4. Your imagination. Maybe you are getting more used to smoking and it seems like less than it was wen its just as much.
Dizzy772
I'm starting to think it's the shisha drying out and not raosting well enough. You think a drop or two of glycerin or lemon/lime juice would do the trick?
SuburbanSmoker
I think some pictures of your set up might help us point you in the right direction.
