So I got my AF G Bah. Apple yesterday... and now I smell the anise. I didn't have any apple that was fresh when I came here and started learning, so I guess I can understand why I didn't smell the anise before. But after taking a big whiff of the BA, I remember my first smoke (in Bermuda, at the Cafe Cairo -- thanks Mike and Debbie), and realize that the anise was there all along, just didn't realize what it was! Shame, for someone who says they hate it.

But I guess taken in moderate doses, and mixed with something yummy, its ok!

The AF Golden Bahraini Apple will definitely be on my stocked list from now on.

Got so many flavors yesterday, dying to try them all. But I will acc. the Tangs Apple in the next day or so to add my impressions to this thread.

Awesome replys. I think this is a valuable topic as Apple is such a classic flavor.

I think next I'll need to try Nakhla DA. However, have any Nakhla DA folks tried Nakhla Bahraini Apple? I wonder if it would lean a bit more appley than DA? Also--I've heard with Nakhla--it's better to get jars for maximum juiciness.

Nakhla Mizo Apple? Good stuff? Anisey?

Nakhla Mizo Apple is actually pretty good. A very faint anise flavor that is evident but not over powering.

I haven't tried Nakhla Bahraini Apple but I have tried AF Golden Bahraini apple, it was actually very good. One of my friends who hates anise absolutely loved it.

If you're going to buy some Nakhla DA, pick up the jars. They're much better. They have a different flavor from the boxes. I'm still looking for a kilo can of Nakhla DA but can't find one. tongue.gif If you get the jars, you won't have to doctor it up with glycerine or anything, it will give off great clouds straight out of the jar. smile.gif Good luck!

Noone (self included) has mentioned Nakhla single apple.

I think I'm going to pick some up and see how it is especially in comparison to DA, I'm assuming it'll have less anise to it.

Any thoughts?

Based on my own apple-fest comparison:

NO TO LOW ANISE:
Tangiers Yellow Apple (Personal Favorite Apple)
AF Golden Esk Apple
Al Ajamy Esk

PROMINENT ANISE:
AF Bahraini Apple
Nakhla Bahraini (Jar)
Salloum Bahraini

EXTREME ANISE:
AF Double Apple
Nakhla DA (Jar)

Honorable Mention: Tangiers Green Apple Candy + Tangiers Sour mix. Its not straight-up apple flavor, but its an enjoyable smoke

Sooooo guess who picked up a kilo of Nakhla DA in a tin?

I picked up some Mizo apple which I plan to try in the next couple days, we'll see how that goes. Excited to try it though.

Nice! Please keep us posted.

I think I'm gonna order either a jar of Nakhla Bahraini Apple or some Tangiers Lucid Yellow Apple--still trying to figure out which will have the most powerful flavor as well as ease of smoking :/

Join the club brother. Love the kilo tins. Just be prepared to transfer the tobacco to a more air tight container.

I just got 250g from Hookah-Company as it was discounted - will review it soon.

As for the best Apple shisha out there: AF's Golden Eskandarani Apple pure and simple. happy.gif

I have noticed that AF Double Apple is a very sensitive shisha. If everything is not setup perfectly it tastes like crap, but when it it setup right with a good hose and a clean hookah, it is heavens on earth.

I have also noticed that the first bowl after cleaning the hookah and changing water might not have a very strong taste. The second bowl is awesome. Yes, I smoke 2-3 bowls for like 2-3 hours at a time tongue.gif

Just recently had some SF Golden Esk Apple. Loved it. Anyone know how Layalina Esk Apple compares?

ive never tried the layalina version but everyone is bold enough to say that AF G Esk Apple is *the best* then it must mean that layalina's doesnt even compare. i <3 AF G Esk Apple

Just curious because for whatever reason it seems like nobody ever mentions layalina and I've enjoyed all the shisha I've tried from them.

a few years ago, we (the hookahforum community) was all about layalina. everyone smoked it.
ive never liked it.

Just ordered some Nakhla Mizo Apple based on all the recent Mizo buzz going around, and as well--some Tangiers Lucid Yellow Apple based on Eric saying it's the best Apple and I've been meaning to give Tangiers a second chance for some time now (first chance was a bag of Kashmir Apple was entirely too incensey for my tastes).

I'll post some notes back once I get the goods. Anyone else Appling lately?

I absolutely love AF Two Apple!!! And so do all my friends who tried it. The flavour is so so strong and the smoke is just incredible. I do like the

anise flavour though and suppose if you didnt you amy not like it, but it is by far the strongest flavoured shisha ive ever had.
