Short Sessions With A Phunnel?

Is it possible to pack less shisha in a phunnel to get shorter sessions, or should I just pack normal, and whatever I don't smoke in the phunnel I can just toss in a tub, or maybe toss the whole packed phunnel into a tub and smoke the rest later? I've wasted so much good shisha on short sessions. And especially when it's Tangiers. That stuff ain't cheap.

How do you guys do short sessions? Mini phunnels?

Make a Scalli mod with a tea light holder.

I got a glass scalli mod, but I hate cleaning that thing. Maybe I'll try the tealight method.

but as a side note, some say it works fine and some say it doesn't work. i guess the best route would be to make a mod as already suggested.

Oops. Sorry. I thought mine was different. Yours was about how high you pack the shisha. This is about short sessions. :/

And Stuie, I already said I got the glass mod. But I hate cleaning that thing.

i have found that the best way is to pack it full and take out the unused and mix it back in.

I'm using the tealight method.. with 2 cocos. *shrug* It's okay. Not smoking like a beast like it usually does. I guess it doesn't matter if the coals are hanging off the sides or sitting on the tealight. Both ways work. Edited March 20, 2009 by JDHarding

Huh.. I can use 3 cocos and it smokes great without burning as long as half the coals are sitting on the tealights. Cool.

How high = how long the bowl lasts, same thing. If you read my post it states that i want shorter sessions so i was wondering if it was do-able to pack less, a good amount less and get a good smoke still. Read a bit closer next time.

if you are going to throw the tobacco that is unused back in the tub make sure to scrape some off of the top even if it looks ok. the only stuff worth saving is on the bottom. i wouldnt unpack it and then repack the whole bowl later, just leave it the way it is and throw coals back on later. mods help too.

That's just the extra wax coating your lungs.

Wrap your glass scalli mod in foil. It will get all crusty and gross but if you soak it in hot water for a few minutes all the foil comes off and takes all the gunk with it. Edited March 20, 2009 by Tom16689

Well, after an hour session, I decided to pop the foil off and check out the damage.

Only a tiny amount of shisha was actually burned this time. The rest I could just scrape back into the tub. So I guess even using this method would require saving the packed phunnel and smoking it several times over several days.

You can half-pack a medium phunnel.

cut the coals you normally use in half. Works fine.

Or use an egyptian


I HAVE in the past loaded up the full med. phunnel, then (instead of a 2 or 3 rounds of coals) seran wrapped it for later.

i pack my phunnel pretty loosely with AF and will use it for about 3 rounds of coals - even if that means more than one day. even if i smoke it over a period of 2 days or so the clouds are still great, and the best part - no wasted tobacco!

just boil your glass scalli mod in water with some baking soda for 10 minutes.. shit comes right off.. Also alittle oil on the mod before you pack helps it from getting nasty.
