Tobacco to stay away from?

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow: I go shopping in the city for 8 boxes or cannsiters of
tobacco.. That's our goal, and then we head back home. We smoke with
some lightweights quite frequently now (new people) and I
do NOT want anyone getting sick, just ruins the whole experience. I
don't mind a great buzz believe me, I mind the woozy/icky feeling, ya
know.

What brands/flavors should I stay away from? Just from personal experience is enough.

Well with nahkla's nicotine kick in the face, might want to stay away
from that. Not saying nahkla is bad, because a lot of people really
like it. But if new people might be smoking who arn't used to the
nicotine, nahkla could really knock them on their asses and get them
sick.

When looking at the different brands, notice the nicotine content. Some
brands will say .5% like nahkla, while others will say .05% like Al
Fahker for example. Just keep that in mind.

Other than that, some tobaccos will affect some people differently from others, so I'm not sure.

Yash has the best idea. Al waha,HH,and Nakhal are all unwashed, so their nicotine will be higher. Grater chance of woozy feeling. Make sure your Newbs eat somethign before smoking as well.I'd say read some review threads for good advice...

stay away from mixed fruit if ya know what's good for ya. also if you don't like cough syrup stay away from cherry, and stay away from apple, double apple, trip apple if you don't like licorice.Al Amir, Al Fakhler seem to be good and "light" on the nicotine.Fumari and starbuzz is good too, but they are only sold online. (fumari.com and socialsmoke.com respectively)

What brands are you talking about? Because not all cherry's taste like
cough syrup, and not all apples have anise, so it would probably be
more helpful if you told us which brands you are talking about.

yea another thing to keep in mind if you have some newbs is that what ive found is that often times if theyve smoked other tobacco products i.e..cigarettes...cigars....pipes...and they first smoke hookah and realize how much more smooth, unique, and different it is..they tend to cling to the hose like its going out of style...taking 15 hits a minute...this can also lead to a good session ending up with people holding their stomachs....now mind you this may not be true for all people its just my 2 cents from experience and as far as tobacco goes..i think a good common al fahker flavor would be a good place to start...happy smoking..and let us know what u end up pickin up in the city!

so far I've been using Al Amir, Al Fakher, but my personal favorite is Romman. You really get some taste out of it and it doesn't knock you on your ass. The nicotine content isn't too bad. I think you can get it at hookah-shisha.com
Another thing to keep in mind is that different brands react differently, you might hate the cherry in one brand but love it in another.

Yeah, stay away from Tangiers, if you want something lighter. That's me saying that...I like to think of it as medium (.3% nicotine), but other people disagree, so...AL Amir is great for a lighter flavor.

One thing I've learnt is that you can (mostly) control the strength of any tobacco out there with how you prepare it. Fewer holes in the center of the bowl=more power. Especially if you are doing something like Nakhla strawberry.
More holes across the whole bowl=more fresh air coming in, causing a milder smoke. In fact, if my session is giving me too much of a thrill (2x4 buzz), i just poke a few extra holes around the edges of the bowl and it really mellows it out.

Yeah, if you don't wanna get buzzed you should stay away from Nakhla for sure.
Personally, I really like some Nakhla from time to time but it would probably be a little too strong for beginner smokers.

I do find it odd though that people say to stay away from Al-Waha if
you don't want a buzz. I think Al-Waha is the only ma'assell I've ever
had that has absolutely zero buzz to it (for me that is). Some of their
flavors taste pretty good, but just don't smoke Al-Waha because I never
end up feeling relaxed or satisfied from it... I've tried Al-Waha
Strawberry, Honey, Cherry, Pineapple, Cola, Gum, and a few others as
well and I've never once got even the slightest bit of a buzz from any
of em. So maybe it varies from person to person, but for me Al-Waha
seems to have absolutely zero nicotine.

So for first time smokers I would say Fumari, Al-Fakher,
Starbuzz, Al-Amir, and Al-Waha are good choices. I'd lean more twords
the Fumari and Al-Fakher though as they seem to provide the most robust
flavor and best smoke while still not becoming too strong in the buzz
department.

In my experiance the buzz from Romman can vary quite a bit
between batches... I once had a bowl of Romman Peach that I barely got
a buzz from it all. Then I had a bowl of Romman Double Apple the next
day and was almost knocked off my chair by the super strong buzz I got
from it.

So yeah, I'd stay away from Nakhla, Romman, Tangiers, Sultan, Hookah Splash if you don't wanna get a buzz.

The ones I would stick to are Fumari, Al-Fakher, Al-Amir, and
Al-Waha. "El-Basha" would also probably work for you, as it is an
Ultra-Light version of Nakhla that contains pretty much zero nicotine.

My 2 cents
