So my trusty QT has developed a crack in the base. Perhaps it's from me not listening when they said don't put hot then really cold water in glass. Perhaps it's from the massive amount of bubbles in the one I got. Anyway, I went looking for a new base.

I went to Cleopatra's (Arab grocery store) where I get a lot of stuff, and he said the QT was discontinued for another, then pointed at the QT econo. He didn't have the color base I wanted, so I went to Guess Hookah. John (owner) said they have discontinued what he called the QT2 (the one everyone around here seems to have). He then pointed out another QT, which he called the QT3. It's not the econo QT (he also had those). This one had a slightly different base, which seemed a bit taller, and more rounded, as opposed to flat sides. The stem was quite different. It looked like a total redesign. I wish I got a picture of it. I can't find it on MYA's site, or any of the online vendors people around here talk about. John ordered me a new vase in dark blue, so I will post a pic of the QT3 when I go there to pick it up. Has anyone seen or tested these out? I am assuming the vases are compatible with the QT2, as I would be mighty pissed if I couldn't get replacement vases for it in the future. Edited by ChicagoJay

edit: someone also made a thread a while ago saying how they found qt bases at an arts & crafts store for cheap. maybe someone could reference that thread?

It's been confirmed that Hobby Lobby's across the nation carry QT bases.

My first QT vase cracked all the way down the middle of the bottom and up the side randomly one day. No idea how it happened, but about a month ago a hobby lobby opened near me and sure enough they had th QT vases labled as decorative glass for 5.99 lol... Or hookah-shisha has them as well.

Here it is. The first pic has what he calls the QT2 on the left, the QT3 in the middle, and the Econo QT on the right. He was saying he has been getting the QT3 from one of his suppliers in CAlifornia for a while. He also said everyone else seems to be running out of the QT2.

?

The QT3 as he calls it has been around for a long while, it was available to most of us before the QT2...

The QT2 as he calls it has been the main one sold online for the last few months if not mistaken. I have the middle "grenade" one.

The econo is pretty new though.

If you do a search for user "Myasaray" (Mya's account), they have pictures of all of the different stems that the QT has had over the years...

Dear ChicagoJay

I just wanted to clear to you that we do carry three type of MYA QT and one type of Econo-MYA QT

Below please find the images of the three classes of MYA QT

MYA E-Class

MYA C-Class

MYA S-Class

The S-Class was copied by lots of imitators so always look for the MYA Logo and if you don't find it then this is not a MYA Product.

Also regarding the Econo-MYA QT we created this line using aluminum stems instead of brass which make this line less price than the brass stem MYA. We only created one Econo MYA QT style that is close to the C-Class QT

We did not stop manufacturing any of the MYA QT. If you are interested in any of them please contact us at 866 277-9MYA.

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at 866 277-9MYA

Thank you

They sell these rip offs all over Tucson. I've noticed that the rip off stem is about half the weight of the original... it also appears to be anodized aluminum like most cheap Chinese hookahs. The funny thing is that they are sometimes more expensive than a true QT. I own 3 Mya's... all good so far smile.gif
