Showtime07
So, besides what i like to call the "pull of death" to know that your shisha is burned....What are some red flags that you guys notice before you take a pull, which destroys your throat, that you have burned your shisha? What are the red flags that you notice? Zinite
If little wisps of smoke come up from your bowl while you're not inhaling, it's burned.
SuburbanSmoker
If you notice a slight tinge in taste before it goes to shit you can usually salvage the bowl. and do check purges, if you have alot of smoke comiung from the bowl its burned. ilikemyusername
personally, i love it when my bowl starts smoking from the wind blowing on the coals.it doesn't necessarily mean that its burned, it just means that shisha and coals are making contact. Codename067
As mentioned, besides the flavor doing low, the smoke upon not inhaling is a good sign.

inino
It wont go harsh in one hit, you will notice it slowly getting worse.
Giant Ninja Robot
Usually when my entire setup bursts into flames and sets the cat ablaze who then runs around my entire apartment lighting everything else to a scorching inferno. That's how I know my tobacco has burned. Hippo_Master
You'll taste a burning sugar type taste added to the flavor, it's very chemical tasting - it occurs right as you're burning the tobacco, no matter what brand or flavor. If you have ever tasted the top of a Creme Brulee you will kind of know what I'm talking about.

Usually if it seems like the clouds are too big (i know, how can that be a problem), and it starts to get a little tickle, its gonna be harsh

And I am pretty sure I know your not burning the bowl. The way I know I am burning my bowl? When it tastes like fucking ass the first puff!
NarghileNights
you start getting not so awesome taste?
taylor413
Definitely smoke coming from the bowl. I can also usually smell the difference when the tobacco starts burning. It's more potent and has a different smell about it.
ilikemyusername
theres a difference between smoke coming out of the top of the bowl as a result of an "overpacked" bowl and smoke coming out of the top of your bowl because you have too many coals on it.
