Small Holes The Way To Go?

so after smoking tangiers for a while i switched back to esk apple. since its not tangiers i use a mod and dont poke into the tobacco as a result smaller holes. when i flipped my coals i notices the holes were smaller than normal but its smoking awesome. random chance or really small holes smoke better?

I use really small holes on everything but Tangiers. I use a toothpick to poke tangiers holes - for some reason the tiny holes never work.

ive noticed that small holes, like needle sized, give denser clouds, but they get clogged sometimes. I usually dont worry too much about holes though and just poke like a madman.

i do 3 rings of holes with a needle, keeps my bowl a little more fresh, less ash falls in, it works for me.

i do 2-3 rings and poke all the way through for everything in my phunnel. even tried it on the egyptian list night. good results for me.

I usually alternate between using a pin and a dart to poke holes. Every time I switch it seems better than before. Although so far it seems that lots of small holes work best for Nakhla.

I'll have to try the needle method for poking holes. I always use a toothpick or a corncob holder and have never had a problem. But this thread got me to thinking...

because i solder stuff but dont pick my teeth. also the point is conical. thus the deeper you pus the bigger the hole. that is just the tip
