i've tried milk and it went ok untill the milk started to bubble but while it was bubbling, the smoke was so thick and creamy

i heard creamer works better because it doesn't bubble, but the milk was fun until bubbling happened and it did taste horrible

recommendation: 4 parts water and 1 part creamer so like 16 oz of water to 1 oz of creamer, deff worth a try!!!

I throw a raw egg in there and beat it up with the water when I smoke at breakfast. Tastes like scrambled eggs. laugh.gif

I can see it now... the Hookah Breakfast! Oatmeal in the bowl, liquid eggs mixed with milk in the base. Part of a complete breakfast wink.gif

My grandfather and dad both really like milk in their hookahs...they always seem to have like a 1 part milk to 2-3 parts water ratio.

I can never tasted the difference, but the milk has never bubbled up in the hose for me (and should not for you if you dilute it). Edited by gorillA

Ya, i agree..you put milk in it. Now WHY did you put milk in it is the real question.

Goodbye hose BTW.

Duh because it makes the smoke more creamy because the milkfat lipids bind to the glycerin/tobacco smoke!!! Everyone knows that.

you got some sort of proof of that?

Ive smoked with milk before and i never noticed a real difference...plus lipids by eye...whats it supposedly do to the smoke and can you prove it?

You mean other than the 26 studies done by Swedish Scientists I assume...

I use 1/2 water and 1/2 french vanilla flavored coffee half n' half and it works fine, no mess and no bubbling. Adds the vanilla undertones and makes the smoke feel heavier, good smoke clouds. Might just be a mind-trick effect or something but it works for me so I do it.

here's my review of coconut milk

Bought a can of it for about 99 cents. Diluted it with water it was probably 4:1 cocomilk:water.
I found that the taste of the shisha was sort of masked because of the coconut milk. The coconut milk smells awfulllllll by the way and its a little bit messy. It is true, I did see an improvement in the clouds but there was cleanup and also if your the kind of person who smokes, then leaves it there and cleans up later, then coconut milk can get reeeeaaly nasty.

Overall? maybe a special occasion or just once for fun, but I'd stay away from it as a substitute for water. The cleaning and hassle make it not worth it in my opinion Edited by hippomania7

Actually if it is one of the generic MYA braided hoses you can run water through it, immediately after you can go outside and swing it around rapidly so all the water droplets run out due to centripital force. It works pretty decent for the hose. You just can't do it more then once or twice.

Guys, take it easy on him. I've used milk in my base before and to me the smoke seemed much smoother. However, it's the AMOUNT of milk here that I believe is the major issue. When I use milk in my base (once a year maybe? I don't really try it anymore) I use like 1oz or so, like, in a 22ish oz base. You don't have to use very much, because yea, the milk will make bubbles kinda like soap does, they stack up because it adds surface tension and will eventually bubble up. Using only a small amount of milk the bubbles will not go high enough to go in your hose unless you're inhaling like a vacuum.
OP is you want to try again, just use a very small amount of milk, don't use alot! Make sure to wash the vase and hookah thoroughly when you're done as well.
