Milk?

i've tried milk and it went ok untill the milk started to bubble but while it was bubbling, the smoke was so thick and creamy

i heard creamer works better because it doesn't bubble, but the milk was fun until bubbling happened and it did taste horrible

recommendation: 4 parts water and 1 part creamer so like 16 oz of water to 1 oz of creamer, deff worth a try!!!

Well I smoke on a budget so I'm not going to jump on getting new hoses. I use Mya $7 hoses (the non-washable) and wash them, they work fine. I cleaned the hookah right after the event and we smoked with water for 4 hours without a problem.

I thought the milk was supposed to be mixed with water but someone there said that they have never seen it mixed. I knew it was a disaster the second we started.

I can't believe you haven't heard of milk being used. You can use any liquid really, I've heard wine and fruit juice are good ideas.

LOLLL its not that we haven't heard of it its just that most liquids are a paint to clean out of the hookah and if you don't clean it properly you'll have a nasty nasty time in ur next few sessions.

As a suggestion for new things to try in the base:

I own a hookah lounge, and I just recently started smoking something I call Triple Apple. I combine the three different apple flavors I have in a phunnel bowl and then replace the water in the base with apple juice.

That concoction has been giving me a buzz like no other every time I've smoked it. And I've been running a lounge for a few years now; I rarely, if ever, get a buzz anymore. But, something about that mixture puts me on a much more relaxed level.

I dunno why i find it offensive i just do. it really irks me when people put stupid crap in the base, like listerine, lollypops jolly ranchers halls stupid altoids.

just don't do it. its DUMB.

I bet you also, when smoking a hookah someone else set up, inspect the hole pattern, water level, and tell them they are using too much/too little charcoal. When in reality, what they're doing is probably completely fine.

Why would you find it offensive if somebody wants to try something new? Experimentation isn't a bad thing. It normally leads to knowledge for that person and better smoking experiences in the future. We all made mistakes when we were new to hookah. Hell, I still do sometimes. But I usually correct it right away and learn from it.

Personally, I've had good experiences with a little milk in the base. It isn't something I do often, I tried it with AF vanilla and it tasted exactly like a vanilla milkshake. Tried it once with Tangiers chocolate mint and it made the flavor come out even more. I love that flavor, but always thought it tasted a little watered down. I wouldn't rule out doing it again in the future, but I probably won't.

OP, if you want to keep using milk in the base, do it. You should probably use about 4/5ths water and 1/5ths milk though. Make sure you clean out your base afterward, but really, you should do that after every session. If it starts to bubble up, stop immediately and empty the base. Also, just remember, hookah is very simple. Don't try to over-do it or over-analyze it. Take care of it by keeping it clean and all that, and it will take care of you.

i am a proponent of strictly water in the vase, however...i do notice an added flavor when you use orange juice. mostly i think it's the same concept of pouring a glass of orange juice and breathing through your mouth over the glass. you can taste it a little bit, but i think it's just better to just drink the juice while you're smoking.

I have put milk in the base multiple time, as other people have suggested use only a small amount, just a dash. And JDHarding that definitely did NOT taste like scrambled eggs...

the reason the water is there is to cool off the smoke so you don't burn your throat off.
putting milk in the base just sounds gross. I read a few of the replies and I agree, either don't do it at all, or mix it with water.
but when that warm air hits the milk it'll make it nice and warm for you, and unless you're a cat, you don't want that, not to mention normally I smoke my hookah anywhere from 2-5 hours and I can't drink a glass of milk that's been sitting out for longer than 15 minutes without smelling it.
the whole idea just seems gross to me.
