skinner927
So last night I had some friends over and I decided to use Milk in my vase instead of water. It was the most horrible thing I've ever tasted, haha. The milk eventually went up the hoses and into our mouths. The problem was the milk was bubbling, like when you're blowing bubbles in milk when you were a kid. I put the same amount of milk as I do water but it was uncontrollable, it even creeped up to the bowl and started to burn. That lasted maybe 3 hits.Did I do something wrong? tinyj316
Yeah... You put milk in the baseYou'll probably need to get a new hose now, as the milk will start to rust out the coils inside the hose.
chinamon
when you use milk, you are only supposed to use a small amount mixed in with the water.if you filled the vase with milk then all the bubbling would eventually turn the milk in to butter. Hippo_Master
You need a new hose and need to clean the hell out of your hookah.

skinner927
Well I smoke on a budget so I'm not going to jump on getting new hoses. I use Mya $7 hoses (the non-washable) and wash them, they work fine. I cleaned the hookah right after the event and we smoked with water for 4 hours without a problem. I thought the milk was supposed to be mixed with water but someone there said that they have never seen it mixed. I knew it was a disaster the second we started. Thanks for the info.I can't believe you haven't heard of milk being used. You can use any liquid really, I've heard wine and fruit juice are good ideas. Hippo_Master
Ok so what is the point of milk in the base?
Boricua
I've read of people using milk, but you have to use a much smaller quantity so the bubbles don't reach the hose.I've heard it's hit or miss but I would never try it on my own hookah

I've had it a few times at other people's houses and the taste was there. I don't know the chemical reactions that take place or if there are any. The flavor of milk might just grab onto the flavor of your tobacco.

JDHarding
I put a whole milkshake in mine. It's great! All cold and vanilla flavored. Seriously, though, I would never put milk, cream, or any dairy product in my base. I don't like cleaning the base all day.
delSol_si
I think if you are going to use milk, you are supposed to use coconut milk...right?
EternalSoil
putting milk in your base is like putting ketchup on steak; you can do it, but it will be terrible and you will look like an idiot.also, i heard if you heat up tar to it's liquid state and put it in the base you get crazy clouds!!!The pull is a little harder but the clouds are amazing!!! contristo
never tried milk... don't ever plan on it since i'm not a milk fan to begin with.my friend told me that putting sprite in with any citrus flavor makes it taste like skittles... not sure about that one either.i'm sticking with water
chinamon
sometimes i like to use sulphuric acid in the base.or whenever i head out to hawaii i use lava in the base.
Capt. Morgan
Ok I've heard that using milk seems to make the smoke thicker. But if you do this you need to dilute the hell out of it so your not stuck with a mess afterword. And your hoses are most likely fucked. They might be usable for a little longer but you'll get getting more rust than smoke here pretty quick. If your just hellbent on using milk by all means go ahead just dilute it really well, but you would be much better off just sticking to water. Victim026
If your deadset on using milk then use a single one ounce shot glasses worth of milk, no more then that.... I would also get new hoses now, the ones you have currently will be ruined shortly.
Sonthert
Booking passage on the S.S. Failboat...Why people put anything other than water in a jar is beyond me...No coconut milk, no cows milk, no goat milk, no milk from your lactating next door neighbor. For all of you pro-milk people, I have a great deal, I've become an official distributor for the DVD rewinder. The new models have been redesigned to rewind Blu-ray Disks, DVDs, CDs and MP3s. They are cool. Act now and I'll throw in a gallon of milk. Seriously dude, there are lots of people who claim to be experts, say they have a secret, claim to know the best way to do something, etc. They don't. I never claim to know whats best and I've been smoking hookah for 10 years. Next, time run it by us, first...OK?
ilikemyusername
as far as the hoses go, i have a simple solution if you cant buy a new one any time soon.just rinse the rust out with water before use, the rust will flow out, and you'll be set.all hoses are washable at one stage in thier life.
