sksiazki
So I've got an excellent, beautiful baby blue KM, with a good looking blue KM hose that it came with.1) The hose doesn't get a good seal (i.e. basically unsmokeable) without a hose gasket. I haven't been able to find any gaskets besides the cheap thin clear plastic ones. Since I take my hose off after every session to clean it, this basically means that I go through a gasket every 1-3 sessions as they are so thin they get cut when I push the hose back into the metal stem. Does anyone know of a better, more sturdy gasket or another way to get a good seal or am I doing something crazy wrong that I don't even know about?2) Haha due to my continuous cleaning of said hose it has decided to completely fall apart, basically breaking right where the hose comes out of the hard thicker part next to the base. I was thinking about getting a Razan or one of the Egyptian washables (preferably not the pink one) from MnH anyway. Will these fit my KM properly?Since we are on the topic, I know everyone has differing views of washing or not. Lets say I've decided I'm going to, in order to limit the amount of bad ish I am ingesting into my lungs.....since I'm already ingesting a bunch by smoking. For those of you who do wash, what do you use and how often, i.e. water n soap, lemon juice every session, every month, only when your mom comes over etc. Thanks

antouwan
i used to use grommets on almost all of my pipes, but there is one syrian that i have where no matter the hose.gasket combination, none of them will stay in the pipe longer than a few pulls - my solution? out will all of my grommets, i fold up a paper towel in half and then in half again and take one square and rip it off. then, i take that square and fold it over and over again until it's about 1/4" inch thick and a few inches long. i run it under the faucet briefly, ring out all the water i can and then wrap tightly around the end that goes into the port...it's like a custom fit every time, and has never failed me. i wash my pipe every time i switch flavors but at least once a week. sksiazki
antouwan, that is a damn good idea. I had been trying to finagle it by wrapping it with tape or something like that, but wet paper towel, thats a good call.hLx ha thanks, i.e. the reason I said I was planning on getting a washable anyway, my main question is has anyone had problems with fitting them into their KM? Had to use electrical tape or a paper towel because none of my grommets worked.
Sonthert
Try a little electrical tape. Wrap a couple of revolutions around the end of your hose stem. It works for jars, its works for hoses that are stubborn. The problem is KM hoses have large, Egyptian stems on, and Chinese and Syrian hookahs have much thinner hose ports...thats why they don't fit.
