Smoking At Work

I have thought about it a lot of times at work.

I'm a banquet manager and my duties once the even has started are pretty easy.

All i really have to do is be available if the client needs something and if they cant find me they go to one of the servers and they get a hold of me.

We have a back deck adjacent to the main room where we hold the events too. I have the time, and the place to do it. I might run it by my boss and see what he thinks about it. he might say no, just to avoid any bullshit about clients calling in saying shit. Even though pretty much everyone at my work, including the C.O.O., know i smoke and that it's only ever tobacco.

Misconception really doesn't bother me. If I explain it to someone and they are ignorant, that's their problem. Regarding work, first of all, who are they gonna tell? the banquet manager that's who... oh wait... So then what? call the cops? lol, i know most of them and would simply comply with their requests, explain it to them, and if they want to confiscate it, no problem. Since i'm not doing anything wrong i'll just call the chief of police's girlfriend, who i work with and talk to a lot, and get it all straitened out.

I guess the only reason i haven't done it is because of the headache of ignorant people.

Now at school... i have time in between a few of my classes that would be perfect. I could just sit in my car and smoke away. Yeah, i would have to deal with the campus security, but only once.

My theory is, it's not illegal. If you have the time, and the patience for ignorant people, might as well. But there are very few situations where you will not get harassed.
