Best Hookah Bar In Dc?

Recommended Posts

My girlfriend and I have been to a variety of hookah bars around the city -- Prince's in Tenleytown and Georgetown, Queen's in Adams Morgan (horrible), Zahara in Georgetown, etc... none have matched the quality of the Mini Diva that I prepare on campus.

I'm not a fan of DC... never have been. I'm transferring out of here next year. To sort of liven up a rainy Saturday where smoking on campus is impossible because of the rain, I was wondering if anyone here had suggestions for a very good hookah bar in DC. We know a thing or two about hookah, so we're not looking for an introductory experience... just some good and relaxing hookah indoors.

It sorta depends where you are. The best places actually in Washington are (in my opinion) outside of the district in Virginia. However, since your a student living in the district (like myself) you probably don't have access to a car to drive out there. Is Zahara the place attached to a bookstore in Georgetown? I have been there and it is probably the best I have been to inside of the district.

yeah, the front part seems to be a study room/cafe with Arabic lessons or whatever, and the hookahs are smoked outside. only reason i avoid the place is because it's too cold to smoke outside and pay $16 per bowl to do it. if i'm going to pay to go to a hookah bar, i would at least want to be inside. i can smoke outside on campus.

what i wouldn't give to live somewhere where i could smoke hookah inside... i will be living at a place like that, but during the summer where it doesn't matter much.

hookah smokers who have a place to smoke inside: you don't know what you have

DC is a great town wink.gif

I agree Zahara is good. When I went there in the middle of winter they did have a place sort of 'inside' Their patio has a tarp and heat lamps. Coming from a tropical climate myself, I can't stand the cold and that place felt nice.

Also, Shisha Cafe in Crystal City is pretty nice. Very authentic food, arabic music, and ok hookah. Only downside is I wish their seats were more comfy.
