El Hannawy Shisha

Recommended Posts

I got a sample of El Hannawy Two Apples with my last order from Hookah John, and he wrote on there to please review. I'm not really experienced enough to write a review on this, but I'll say what I've noticed thus far while smoking it.

It's packed tightly in a small Tang phunnel, 3 halves of coco naras on top.

The smell reminds me of Nakhla Apple, with that strong anise smell in it. But the taste is not the same. It's sweet. It's super sweet. Like candy apples. There's a slight licorice flavor, but nothing like Nak. I'd say it's pretty good stuff, but perhaps someone like Stuie or a more experienced smoker could get some of this and try it. I've only had 2 other apples (Nak and AF) and this has so far been the best of them.

Been smokin this for an hour or so now. The cocos have since died, so I replaced them with a couple jap canarys just to see how they taste. 2 japs seem to keep the heat going pretty good. I tried the windcover, but shit it was too much heat. Flavor's going strong. Very sweet still. Yumyum. biggrin.gif

Thanks for taking the time to do that, however after smoking several flavors my hopes of it being similar to nakhla have faded, it's ok but I just don't think it will sell good,
John

Well, the apple ain't bad. But it is quite a lot like Nakhla, and I'm sure Nak is probably cheaper. Though I do like the lighter anise flavor. I don't like Nak's apple 'cause of all the anise. I also like how it's wetter than Nak, and the flavor is a bit more intense. The smoke clouds are okay. I noticed a little harshness in the back of my throat, kind of like Tangiers, but the buzz was much milder.

It deffinately does not like getting burnt. Try adding more heat than it likes and it tastes burnt right away. Even before there's any harshness. Edited by JDHarding
