JDHarding
Let him stick it in the dishwasher and let him smoke out of it afterward.. maybe that'll teach him not to be so lazy.

Hobbs
The wiki pretty much covers what you need to know, but this is what I do.Mix a generous amount of baking soda + Lemon Juice so that it's a paste, and I pour it down my pipe and hold it horizontally (so that the stuff doesn't drip out). I then take a brush and scrub it a good bit, let it sit for a few to absorb any odors and residual taste, then give it a thorough wash to remove the mixture (it tastes bad if you don't wash it all out). Then I use my air compressor on 30-40 psi and dry it off. If you do use a compressor, don't ramp up the PSI, and make sure you keep the tank drained and devoid of as much moisture as possible, or you defeat the purpose of blowing it out.I have friends who have used alcohol and epsom salt to clean glass pieces, the salt acts as an abrasive, and epsom salt is pretty coarse, while the alcohol does whatever it does. Epsom salt + baking soda + lemon juice might make a good abrasive cleaning mixture. And for a final polish I use a microfiber cloth to wipe off any smudges and fingerprints from my pipe. I've been asked if I ever actually use my pipes by friends.

BigSexyPanda
^ haha good idea+1 on baking soda and lemon juiceAlso, definitely worth the time just cleaning it right away instead of waiting and letting it sit for a while. So much easier to clean when everything is still fresh.
