Imsomint
I'm looking for a pure, unflavored shisha, hoping unflavored shisha tastes like pipe tobacco, seeing as the only "pipe" flavor I could find is AF pipe and it tastes like chocolate. I know Havana has a pipe flavor but have not tried it and do not know if the flavoting comes from a flavor additive or the tobacco itself. I have also considered fabricating my own, but the only recipes I could find for home made shisha include honey and flavored jelly/jam. Is it possible to make your own with the end result tasting like pipe tobacco? Has anybody tried it? How did it turn out?
r1v3th3ad
edit: Fail on my partcould try tossing some glycerin and honey in some pipe tobacco, might be pretty good
mitchard
Zaghlol is a pretty pure tobacco flavor. I haven't been too into pipes in my time, so I can't really compare the two accurately.
AKammenzind
I'll tell you right now, unflavored shisha doesn't really taste like pipe tobacco, just something about the water must change the taste, and it is traditionally prepared differently as well. It tastes like tobacco yes, and often with the slightest hints of spice and molasses, and you should definitely try it if you like pipes... but it is a markedly different taste. As someone said already Zaghloul is a good plain tobacco, although very strong and dark tasting. Myself I'm a fan of Desi Murli for plain tobacco, really great stuff... http://hookah1.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_13 you can get it there cheap if interested. Stuie
grab some Jewel, although it's flavored, it's base is cigar tobacco or something similar. Main reason I don't like it. If I want a cigar I will smoke a cigar.Nakhla Zaghoul and Zaghoul Light are unflavored so is Tangeirs Cooling.
Hippo_Master
You're not gonna find any shisha that is flavored as pipe tobacco. There's such a huge variety of pipe tobacco that you would have to base it off of one of those tastes, and if you have not smoked enough pipe tobacco to know what you do and do not like then that would be impossible. What I think you mean to say is a "Tobacco Flavor". As far as hookah tobacco goes over here in the states, you won't get much on the unflavored edge of the spectrum. In Syria, Egypt, and many other middle eastern countries, hookah tobacco is prepared as pipe tobacco is- in steps, with flavors relating to the process the tobacco goes through. Nakhla Zag is not a very high quality "unflavored" moassel, and the singular, non-variating taste is just really not that enjoyable. The best "unflavored" hookah tobacco is most definitely Desi Murli; a close second would be Soft Black if it was availble here in the US. Desi Murli, however, is not completely without added flavors, as you can tell with one whif if the product. It is however, not mixed with any artificial flavorings- added flavors include spices and maybe a hint of a heavy fruit. Salloum Plain is also a moassel, and is much better than Zag. It has a complex flavor, mostly relating to that of a fig or light prune, with spice notes.I would recommend Desi over all of these, but while you are buying Desi, i would snag some Salloum Plain as well from hookah1. Voski
Well if you are up for it you could always buy a brand that you like and boil/soak/rinse/drain over and over until all you are left with is tobacco. Then you could just add honey or glycerine and smoke it unflavored. I have no idea how it would work out in the end.
MrMoodz
The two plain or unflavored hookah tobaccos I enjoy are Nakhla Zaghloul and Havana Pipe. Havana Pipe tastes like Nakhla Zaghloul but with more molasses. I have yet to try Desi Murli but it's on my to-do list.

BBKakes
AF Pipe takes like AF Chocolate, which happens to taste like AF Pipe. I've heard good things about HookahHookah Cavendish, but the cut and prior experience with other flavors steers me away from anything HH.
