So... My Wife Wants A Collossus.

Recommended Posts

I don't think its too bad of an idea, we want something with 4 hoses, so thats MYA all the way.
plus, its really big and sexy looking, so i can handle that, i hear its got a really great draw on it, so, plus there.
i know the purge sucks on it, just like my qt, maybe worse, i'll come up with something.

my question is...
WTF is cloissone... and what do grapes have to do with the hookah experience?

we quit smoking cigs, so thats how she's justifying the purchase.
we're "saving" almost $400 a monmth, so she says if i stick with it, (today is day 8)
i can have one, only problem is H-S wont have one for another month.

I'd pick up one of those if your looking for a 4 hose smile.gif

Psych, with the constantly deteriorating quality of KM's I can't encourage anyone to spend any amount of money on any KM products.

I'd suggest a Mya Paragon, not as cumbersome as the Colossus, purges well, not a pain to clean and it's still tall and beautiful, and four hoses.

First, I said, "that's what she said" like 5 times while reading that post.

Second, I have a blue mya gyro with the cloissone grapes on the stem and hoses. It looks real cool and fancy. Cloissone, i think, is enamel separated by metal. I like my hookah a lot, its a 4 hoser that's exactly like the one you are looking at, just shorter.
(here's a picture of when it was only a little one hose hookah)

"So... My Wife Wants A Collossus."

...i'm sure she does...sorry, no offense, it was just right there calling my name.

but smeariously, the collossus is a good pipe i'm sure, but PERSONALLY i think they're a little too big to manage. i don't know the context to when you'll be using it, for parties or other big drawn out events, but for a solo smoke, personally, i think it would suck. I'm sure you have plenty other pipes for those occaisons though - if the cash is burning/will be burning a hole in you guys' wallets, then go for it - and feel good when you buy it, think of it as stimulating the economy.

I disagree, i like the thick colossus base with the multi layered glass diamond etched designs over a pyramid shaped thin painted vase.
plus, I'm probably not going to have it be the full 40 inches all the time, I'll probably leave one of the stem sections off.

can you do that?
i remember somebody with a gyro saying that while people think you can reduce the size, that actually you cant
and if you dont want the full 40 inches most of the time , why not just get the gyro?
same thing but shorter, yes?

Apparently another bit of knowledge that was lost with time, was the easy fix for Mya purge problems. A bendy straw. One end in the end of the purge valve, the other down closer to the water level. Works every time wink.gif

And it is a damn good hookah, great draw and a very slexy one to look at.

I was actually thinking of doing something like that, but a bendy straw would slertainly be easier than a small steele tube, cheaper too.
and damn, I was going to impress everyone with my ghetto fabrication lamsey_woot3.gif

of course I COULD buy around 15 coral frags for that much.

I'd go with the frags. biggrin.gif

I love SW tanks.

I am considering this for my next hookah: http://www.southsmoke.com/pd_the-alpine-hookah.cfm Edited by PhxKarma
