TexasHookah
We are working on a project right now in which we are developing a unit that will startup the hookah in the beginning. Personally, I don't like have to start up the hookah initially. We want to know if people would be interested in this product and if you have the same feelings as us about the initial startup? If interested in such a product how much would you pay for it? Let us know your opinions!
cotsi95
umm theres already a few on the market... the Shishavac. and this amazing invention called a vacuum. I just heard of the "vacuum" like 10 min ago so i think it might be a prank.
ih303
What do you mean "start up the hookah"? Like start the coals? Or take the first couple pulls for you? Could you be a bit more specific?
Scoop
what do you mean startup? you mean the time between putting coals on the bowl and getting hits? i dont mind, if you wait a few minutes it starts fine in 2 puffs
JDHarding
Personally, I prefer my mouth.. yeah, it doesn't cost me anything.
chinamon
do you mean like a vacuum type contraption that pulls through the hose to get the hookah started? ive never had a problem starting the hookah.yesterday when one of my friends was here yesterday and i put the first set of coals on the bowl and gave her the hose, she said "i hate starting it" and handed me the hose. that was the first time ive heard anybody say that. why do people hate starting the hookah? i was getting 3/4 smoke on the first pull and full smoke on the second. TexasHookah
Yeah, the initial pulls after putting the coals on. Mostly this will be marketed to hookah lounges, but we jsut wanted opinions of the general clientele as well.
SuburbanSmoker
Dont think there will be much of a market out there for it. i dont know a single person who minds starting it. just my .

TexasHookah
Well shishavac didn't work becuase of the $250 price tag. Ours will probably be around $30.

Hobbs
I don't really see the necessity.. I put my coals on and leave them for 2-4 minutes, when I take my first puff it's smoke central.
ilikemyusername
if you pack the bowl right, as soon as you put the coals on its smokinabout an 8th inch above the rim.
MechAnt
Mushrat uses a hand held vacuum like Cotsi posted and he rigged up the system beautifully. See if you can find the thread.

inino
i would pay no more than 20 bucks for something that is both functional and visually pleasing. other than that two drags from my mouth and my smoke is thick.
Stuie
I would pass, personally. Maybe good for lounges. But I am not going to mess with something like that when I normally start hitting good on the second puff.
