Weavit
So how exactly do you get this nubby little thing off? I've been trying and I don't see myself being able to get it undone with anything short of a pair of plyers. So me being a noob smoker and never setting up my own Hookah until I bought one a few days ago, how tight is your bowl supposed to be secured to your hooka? I have the regular Mya bowl and a Havana Phunnel, and neither of them seem to feel very secure with the bowl grommets they came with, a lot of times they get pushed up into the bowl or it hardly sits there and I have to be real careful not to tip it.As for the Hookah I'm using it's a 26" Mya Cosmos. So can anyone offer some insight as to what I'm doing wrong, or is that just the way it is. (It smokes fine once I actually get it secure. =P)One LAST thing. Are the Canary Golden coals good? I got a box of them but I can't get them going for the life of me. Giant Ninja Robot
it should unscrew........bowl should be airtight to smoke properly...if they are the golden canary natural coals you need to light them on the stove.

Weavit
I don't have a camera, and I mean the tip of the valver unscrews, but the part under it doesn't, so I can't get another hose on that side which is rather annoying.I do use a stove and they seem to end up burning too much, I heard that you're supposed to wait until the silver comes off, but it's not working for me, end up scraping it off.And as for the bowl I know it's supposed to be airtight, which is why I don't like how it seems to wobble up there, or the grommet gets stuck in the bowl. Is it not supposed to be a pretty sturdy hold?Edit: Hmm, maybe that just never comes off? I wanted it to be 4 hoses and I thought that could be accomplished by getting that off, maybe I was mistaken. Giant Ninja Robot
what i do with jap coals is wait till they're red hot then just gemtly pick up in tongs and gently drag across the stove surface, cleans the silver right off. It wont come off on its own, you'll be waiting a while if you try that.

But yeah, I get nervous with a wobbly bowl because I have a lot of animals, I'm not so worried about them causing the Hookah to fall then just pushing the hookah causing the bowl to tip over spilling the coal. BigSexyPanda
I know what you mean about the valve. It's a two piece and I had the same problem with it. If you put it on there real tight, you will have to use some pliers to get it off. Just wrap it with a rag and dont squeeze hard. It comes off very easily if you use some pliers. Charley
dose your hookah say mya on it? there are knockoffs that look like myas and are even sold by less reputable dealers as a "mya" and I have found that many of these knockoffs the valve is screwed on so tight that the only way to get it off is to wrap a think layer of electrical tape around it to protect the metal while you use a pair of pliers to loosen it i have even seen one that was sodderd on before. Charley
ah I really don't think southsmoke would knowingly sell knockoffs the valve was probly just overtightend at the factory or at the shop on accident but try the tape thing make sure you tape the shaft up around the valve to so if you slip while trying to take it off you dont scratch it. cotsi95
Southsmoke are REALLY good guys, we use them for wholesale. For the havana phunnel, they suck we got one in to try them and the openings are WAY to big. Use 2 grommets if it came with them (ours did) it will work better. inino
to fix your bowl problem make sure the top of the hookah is dry, the grommet is dry, and the inside of the bowl are dry. then they will stay on. if this still doesnt work, then make a grommet out of a wet paper towel.
