igman87
The rubber grommet that my bowl fits on keeps getting wet from the syrup and causes the bowl to work it's way up off the grommet. Can anyone think of a quick fix for this? It's going to be a few days before I can get a new, better fitting grommet.

r1v3th3ad
ya, use either paper towels or cloth(both moist) as a grommet until you can get a dif. one...or permanently

gaia.plateau
Roll your grommet in ashes.Faster/easier than paper towel and it doesn't make your pipe look messy.
SuburbanSmoker
+1 for ash. i would say get new grommets as well for the long run cause that is annoying.
Weavit
Is it ok to use more then one grommet at once? When I was using just one the bowl would just slide right on down it, so I just pushed another one on top of it and it worked like a charm. (Well kinda, a little tougher to take off then normal, but I liked how secure it was.)

mitchard
Be warned that non-mod bowls don't like to stay on the mod grommet sometimes. I had trouble getting my phunnels to stay on my little hookah that had a mod grommet on it.
igman87
Yeah, that's the kind of grommet I have. And since I have a modern style non-mod bowl, I suppose that's the problem.
mitchard
That explains it. Where are you at? I can just send you one if you can't find any in local shops (though you should be able to).
10ryno
the best way i have found to fix this problem is to take the grommet off and take 2 sheets of toilet paper fold it in half and wrap it around in place of the grommet

mitchard
Ok. So you do have the right grommet for that bowl. I have one of those, and yeah, even with the grommet it still doesn't like to stay in place. Your bets bet would be to get a new bowl. As stated, get a Tangiers Phunnel. It will work well for all of the shisha you listed.

igman87
I just took my dremel with a grinding stone and scored the inside of the bowl because it was completely glazed inside and out. Doing that in combination with a small piece of paper towel wrapped around the grommet seem to work the best for me.
