anyone have any rituals you like to do while smoking hookah. Myself personally i like to have a Guinness or two and read a mystery novel while i smoke, if im alone that is.

i always and mean ALWAYS have at least 1 diet coke and a cigarette, and usually do set up.

Nah, I smoke daily, so my routine varies...I love Hookah with:

Movies, TV, reading a good book (used to get lost in a few good fantasty series last year while plugging away at hookah).

I'm more just an OCD heat management guy now that Tangiers found and saved me from myself.

For the past week it's been Blood Meridian during my sessions, it's one amazing book from Cormac McCarthy. I have decided to only read it while I'm smoking tobacco.

unless im with my friends....then its captain morgan, hookah, and a drinking game. that can sometimes get a bit hectic tho hahaha....no accidents yet!! *knock on wood*

Back two years+ back i'd always have tea with my hookah. Not so much anymore though. Vanilla tea with a sweet flavour was damn good though.

Coffee is a very flavor strong drink and usually lowers the amount of flavor. Not saying I don't do it all the time, just saying.

I was drinking a milk shake today while smoking my hookah and defiantly noticed the flavor more
maybe it was the dairy product clearing my pallet but it is something im going to do more often

I like to watch movies or play video games while smoking hookah. Also, definitely need something to drink during the session.

Some sort of media. It has to be something I consume though, yesterday I tried smoking while sketching out some graf work and the hookah was left completely neglected.

I prefer to read fictional books when smoking, usually fantasy, sometimes sci-fi, but always something fantastical.

Movies are good too but I tend to get sucked in and forget about heat management.

What I REALLY love and have been doing all season is watching Pistons games while smoking. Perfect length for a nice relaxing session and I don't feel the need to catch EVERY SINGLE SECOND so if I look away to rotate or ash no biggy.

Sometimes I sit and listen to my huge ol headphones and an old record in my favorite chair while smoking. For some reason I dont enjoy it as much when it's a cd or my ipod.

I actually have enjoyed having a fruit or vegetable snack while smoking and I always have water, nothing else besides to drink.

If no friends are around, Hookah Forum chat is all I need. Smoking alone outside in the wee hours (the only time and place I can) gets really boring, but all of my friends here keep things interesting. Occasionally I will pop a TV series into my laptop (How I Met Your Mother or The Wire), but mostly I like to sit back in the peace and quiet and talk to people.

my ritual usually consists of ;
turning on the stove and tossing coals on the eye
filling my vase with water
filling a headpiece
foiling
this is where it gets tricky
my morning bowl goes well with coffee
HOWEVER
my evening bowl is best served with wine
then i toss coals on and sit on the porch
smoke and drink.
