I Hate Fedex

Recommended Posts

So about last sunday I accidentally dropped my small phunnel and it shattered, non repairable. The next day I ordered a replacement phunnel and 250g of tangiers lucid brambleberry from HC. The shipment was suppose to arrive today, and it did but I wasnt home... Since there was nobody here to sign for it they took it back to the warehouse and wont bring it back till tuesday sometime because they are close on mondays too... This made me very angry and was wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this bs.

And why do we have to sign anyways?

Because it protects you, the receiver of the package, the sender of the package and the deliverer of the package. It you knew it was coming and that you had to sign for it, then it's on you man, don't blame fed ex. I guess that if you don't like signing for packages you could just buy a bunch of stuff and have people pretend to mail it out to you, it'd basically be the same thing.

If I know a package is coming and I won't be home I just leave a note saying to leave it.  Never have had a problem doing that, but I guess it depends on whether you trust it to not get stolen.

1) HC send it that way for your protection, however, they will send it out no signature required if you just put that in the instructions when you place the order online..... That little box that says "Additional shipping information"? Yeah that one.
2) My local Fed Ex branch is about 30 minutes away. They miss me and I forgot to put the "no signature please" info in the aforementioned box, I take my gorgeous fluffy backside down there and pick up my package rather than way for redelivery.
3) I hate people dumping on the entire delivery service all the time. I've got the worlds worst USPS mail carrier and yet I don't blame the entire service. Fed-Ex is very good in my neighborhood and UPS sucks. Because the delivery drivers on my particular route are such that the Fed-Ex guys very good, the UPS guy could give a rats behind.

If the retailer requires sigs by default, it's in your favor from a legal standpoint. You don't have constructive receipt of the goods until you sign for them and thus the purchase contract is not fulfilled until you do so. In the event of a faulty product or an error not the fault of the courier, you will have a much, much easier time getting your money back from the retailer. Accounting for the win.

It sucks having to deal with the hassle but like others mentioned, you can request that no sig be required and the retailer will document the revenue and recognize the contract as completed - but you run the risk of theft or dispute regarding responsibility for damaged goods.

Well no I didnt know I would have to sign for it.. Last time I bought stuff I wasnt required to sign. I waited around my house till about 2pm and I figured it should have came by then since it was in my city at 5am that morning. And I would drive down to there station, but the 1800 lady said theyll be closed.

But thanks I guess I now know to leave a message in the little box.

Obviously you're frustrated and we were not exactly sympathetic....... But..... Next time you'll know. We've all been burned by delivery issues before. Chalk it up to lessons learned.

I made the mistake of having them drop it off without signing.
My neighbor asked me if I had gotten the package that they dropped off at my house later when I got home from work.
It was not there when I got home. Someone jacked it.
It was my new paintball gun, with upgrades. worth over $400.00

Now, I make them have me sign for everything.

just a question has anyone ever had a package stolen?

I haven't.

With FedEx orders all in means, is instead of going home, I go the FedEx Depot first to pick up my package....a major hassle being on the other the side of town.

I wouldnt worry about it much....

You dont even the crap i just had with UPS.

I ordered some stuff from H-S for spring break. Then UPS decides to ship my package about 400 miles IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. Then they decide ok we'll just push back the delivery date it'll be ok. Well, I call H-S to have them call ups and fix it since UPS wont let me do anything about it being delivered after im out of town for spring which was the whole reason i ordered it anyway. So H-S gives them a redirect and its supposed to go to a new address. At this point im like ok. Then i call when it hasnt showed up on time again. They shipped it to the origional address and then lied to me saying that no such thing as a redirect had come in. They then had to ship it in the opposite direction from me again to get it to me. Long story short UPS sent my stuff in the wrong direction twice, lied to me about it and then got it to me a week late, the last day of spring break and wont refund me any money saying its my fault.

Im not trying to one-up you, im just saying that missing 1 signing isnt a big deal, it will be there tomorrow.

FedEx loaders in texas are terrible. It is never a surprise that a box or five that were supposed to be on a truck for delivery are not loaded. Happens at work all the time and only with fedex. Don't have the problem with ups but of course our ups driver kicks all the boxes to us. Luckily we are getting a new driver who happens to be my fav when he subs for the regular.

Anyways yeah. These companies deal with an ass load of packages everyday. Of course mistakes are going to happen.
