cxc5120
I bought this batch from HC I usually buy it from HS but I needed another phunnel as well. The flavor is Bramble BerryI do have the paper still I just didnt think calling could do much after reading so much.I honestly dont think it is a bad batch, because it smells great and looks like the 2 other og batches I have, but could never get to acclimate. The only reason I purchase a lucid batch was because I didnt think I would have to acclimate it and it might be easier for me. I have bought Static Starlight and Blue Gum Ball from the Og line and could never get them to smell right even after sitting them out for a week.I have never had any trouble setting up a bowl or anything else, but yes I dont think Ive ever had to deal with this kind of shisha. I do not want to give up on tangiers, I have smoked every Af flavor and I am quite over those. Starbuzz and Fantasia are to expensive for me. Tangiers just seems to be the best tabacco right now and I just want to expeirence it.
redjako
Meh, have you tried over compressing (or compressing the tobacco TO THE SPEC'S on the package? AS PACKED as it came when PURCHASED?) then firing it with coals?I love the tangiers now I just buy other brands for people who can't handle the "kick"Also, since I don't have my 10 gig of video up yet (busy applying for 20 jobs a week post grad), the FIRST success I had with Cool Strawberry (my second Tangiers batch) was with an egypitian packed dense as could be, with 3 coco's. Though it didnt last long I just thought to bring that up as I always thought (incorrectly) that the phunnel was created in conjunction with Tangiers tobacco..which is silly when you think about it. Sonthert
mdl told me that the brambleberry has a strange taste in Lucid...different than standard Tangiers...almost chemical...could that be it?
cxc5120
I don't think so, because I still wasn't getting very much smoke. I still never got the taste to what it smelled like, so maybe it is this flavor. What flavor would you recommend? Have you ever made any "how to" videos? If so, that would be helpful lol. Santino
QUOTE (cxc5120 @ Apr 11 2009, 10:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Blue Gum Ball from the Og line and could never get them to smell right even after sitting them out for a week.Blue Gumball always smelled weird for me.. but tastes heavenly The only tobacco I sell more of is shnozzberry, and that is probably attributed to the name. redjako
cxc, try this out.Jam your phunnel into the shisha (after stirring it up for the juices).Compress it with your palm.DONT clear out the middle portion of your phunnel, but knock off excess shisha so its only about 1/2 cm above the rim.Foil, a lot of heat, and give it a try. When I finally got tangier down, this was my method. I then had to adjust how much I flick off / compress when I started clearing out the center of the phunnel.Good luck BTW its awesome you kick it around these forums Eric. Boricua
Eric it's always great to read your posts on Tangiers. I think it makes the product that much more 'personal' in a sense to a lot of us here.As a Lucid fanatic though, I wish that line could get more attention from time to time. I have many friends that were new to hookah and have been turned through the magic of Tangiers Lucid. These people now pretty much only smoke when it's Tangiers, but I could not see any of them handling the 'kick' of OG Tangiers.Just a thought
