It's the only word I could think of when I got my KM 74" ultimate hose this afternoon from HC. Looks as if it were assembled out of spare wood and cloth by children. I'll only be usiing it for decoration, but for the money I wish it were better. I'm still trying to secure the port connection to the hose, it fits so poorly. I had to sew some of it back together, the stitches were loose around the handle and other end, and I got no receipt in the box. So much for quality control. I've usually had fine dealings with this company, but now I'll think twice when ordering.

hmm all of my ultimates have been ... well ... ultimate!

Solid construction, and as for the hose port, if the end is wooden, flip it around so the thin end goes in the hose and the thick end goes in the hose port, and you will be all set.

As for the construction of the hose itself ... if it is THAT bad complain to the company, if they try to tell you its hand made, tell them yes hand made has imperfections, but when the threading is falling apart, that is borderline .. un-functional. Seeing after multiple uses the threads will eventually completely come undone.

Oh and if you have smoked out of it, then don't bother, you won't be able to be refunded.

I was going to order the Ultimate based on the praise Codename067 has given it, but when I was ordering my KM, John (hookahjohn.com) informed me that he didn't carry the Ultimate because he didn't feel it was very good quality. I got a hose that looks more like the Supreme HC sells, may try that one. I have posted it before, but for your ease incase you decide to order one, it looks like this:

Here is HC's Supreme:

Here is the photo john has for what he calls the "leather" hose:

Btw, this hose smokes AMAZING! Plus, the handle is so long you can rest the end on your lap and still smoke without having to use your hands. I am kinda pissed tho because I was smoking hookah with some buddies and I was sitting in a rocking chair and laid the hose on the ground to change the baccy and forgot it was there...a section of the hose got crushed sad.gif . When I first saw it, I felt like this: 774_smiley_getting_kicked_in_the_balls.gif Luckily, it still works, think I may order another one tho anyway.

Oh, and sorry to hear about your hose not working right!! Must be pretty frustrating!

Mine came with a slightly unraveled stitch job as well, smokes great when I can get it to but strangly I've had sessions in which is just doesnt work well at all, like there's a leak somewhere and I can't get a good draw...i dont understand it but I understand your concerns Smokey, sorry dude.

I have one of these hoses too and I was real disappointed with it. It does smoke well and everything but damn is it poorly stitched together. I mean the stitching on mine is all over the place. I'm not great with a needle and thread but damn I could have done a much better job than what the person who made this hose did. Oh well. If you want another km hose go with the leather one from hookahjohn. It is my go to hose right now and the mouthpiece is non removable so you don't have to worry about it coming loose.

Damn, I was just thinking about buy one of these hoses because I thought the two of you were exaggerating, but I think I will pass on that now. I am wondering if all of KM's stuff has gone down hill now? I know the hookahs have from what I read, but maybe the hoses are now too. Codename seems to have good luck with his, but I assume his are probably pretty old.

wait so scott took the tubing out of the hose and then shoved vinyl through in it's place then stitched it back up? Awesome!

Scott if you see this thread, how hard was it to take the tubing that was already in there out?

I never liked those KM Ultimate hoses. I think they're blech for the price.

Giant Ninja Robot: When that happens, try rotating the stem piece in relation to the hose port. Sometimes stem pieces that aren't drilled true will have a leak when oriented one way, but not when oriented a different way. The hole will often break through the side of the stem, a little, near the top. If that break is oriented towards 12 O' Clock, the weight of the hose will create a gap, where if the break is closer to 6 O'Clock, the weight of the hose will tend to seal it.
