Finally Ordering A Tangiers Funnel

Recommended Posts

I was wondering whether I should order the small or medium size because I'm not sure exactly how deep the tangiers funnel bowl is. I generally set up sessions to last about 20-30 minutes, depending on what type of coals I'm using. I have consistently been loading a mix of a random Nakhla flavor and Al-Waha mint..which is pretty damn decent if you haven't tried it. Suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance.

Oh and do you folks usually light up coconaras for your funnels or quicklights?

20-30 minute sessions?

Umm, a small phunnel will give you 2-3 HOUR sessions...

My next order will include coconaras - I use Romman lemonwoods at the moment, accidentally because I ordered 5 500g bags by mistake. They're a pain in the ass but I LOVE that I get no off-flavors. Plus I use the tons of shake with my funnel bowl and Tangiers since the shisha is so heat sensitive. Hey it works except I hate the constant trips to the kitchen to fire up more bits of charcoal - but its worth the 3 hr smoking sessions _sheesha2__by_Majunka_aurore.gif

Agreed. Go with the small.
I have a large-ish small which is closer to a medium... goes on for 4-7 hours depending on the shisha.

Medium phunnels are HUUUUUUGEEEE man.

This is the only phunnel I have, and as a heavy smoker (daily basically) I still can't smoke the entire thing in 4 hours normally, theres always some good stuff left on the bottom biggrin.gif They are great for parties, like eight people tugging on multiple hoses for HOURS.

3-4 rounds of coals, thats what you can expect from the medium, as WELL as a small (from what I've read here, its just less heat used).

I'm going for a small on my next order, and creating a tea-light Scalli mod for the medium biggrin.gif

Small still holds a hella lot of tobacco - enough for 2-3 hours minimum. I use CH coconut coals, 2 per round, used to put them across from each other but now I put them on the same half of the funnel and go through a round there then move to the other side and back again for a 3rd round, and across again for a 4th if I'm so inclined. Which often takes me way over the three hour mark!
