wodieson2
Earlier today while my frat brother and I were smoking he suggested that maybe next time i try to line the bottom of the phunnel with foil. He said it might help distribute the heat around to all the tabacco. I'm kinda skeptical but I just want to know if anyone else has tried this and does it work. inino
burns bowls a little fast but keeps them clean. thats pretty much it.
Victim026
You won't gain anything by lining the phunnel with foil(if it is a real tangiers phunnel) it's already excessively efficient at heat distribution, more so then most bowls that are currently on the market. The only thing that *might* give it a run for it's money is the glass MNH phunnels, but even that is debatable. At the end of the day all I can say is that I rarely burn my tangiers phunnel bowls, and my glass bowls would be next in line.
FamiliarJoe
Good idea lol but ive tried it and I have to say, didn't change anything at all. The one thing that seems to help heat distribution for me was the tea light mod.
K1024
there was a post about using a ring of foil in egyptian bowls to help with heat distribution, and apparently that method worked pretty well. i have to agree with victim though, in that the foil would not work significantly at distributing the heat.on the other side of that coin though, inino makes a good point of cleanliness...bowls are a pain i nthe ass to clean, especially once theyve started to cake with burnt shisha. trust me i know...i still dont have my egyptian clean, but my phunnel finally is.you might do ok with some sort of wiring that conducted heat well, and is in fact something that ive been meaning to try for a while. if i ever get around to it ill post it up here. SuburbanSmoker
i vote neh if your using a phunnel. as for the black crap, it comes off easily with boiling water and the hard side of a sponge.

This is really just a consequence of smoking, right? Or am I actually burning and not realizing it?
redjako
lol...should clean it up, at least water / scrape it out with a paper towel.I use a toothbrush every other session or two, which is in tandem with a "larger" cleaning session with pipe cleaners etc.Foil fail is the consensus I'm guessing.. SuburbanSmoker
the black crap is just burned on juice from the shisha. i havent noticed an effect from it on my older bowls, but i like to keep me new phunnels as clean as possible for as long as possible. i probably give em the boiling water treatment once every 3 months.
