Sonthert
Old style Khalil Maamon Hoses:Crummy head pieces, poor quality stem pieces...too narrow, need several gaskets to seal up. Thread wrapped hoses prone having thread break and unravel. Steel wrapped ones made of untreated steel, supceptible to rust. Still smokes well. Styling and finish spartan, but reassuring. Holes tend to be irregular and pieces needs taping to fit tightly. 7/
Sonthert
New Khalil Maamon Hoses:head pieces vary, but seem towards the same crummy ones as the earlier model. Cloth wrapped hose and overall styling is impressive. Stem pieces larger, thicker and better fitting. Hose has awful chemical flavor associated with it. 6/
Jeff_T
Khalil Mamoon, just got it with my green pear.Amazing draw, tons of smoke. Nice long handle, comfortable grip. Good flexibility, great look.Only con is that its not washable.Have to compare it to my Razan I just received.Overall 8.5/
modisess
Razan Washable vs. Khalil Mamoon DeluxeLooks : I actually prefer the look of the KM hose to the Razan hose. If you look at them side by side, the Razan hose looks plain compared to the KM hose.KM Deluxe - +1Razan Washable - +0Pull : IMO, they both have the great same easy pull. Although I see that the hose on the KM is a little bit smaller than the Razan.KM Deluxe - +1 Razan Washable - +1Build : The KM hose feels and looks like it's better built than the Razan hose. After a couple of washes on the Razan hose I could already see that part of the glue on the handle has already started to let go. The KM hose feels heavier and more sturdy and doesn't feel like it could fall apart on you any second.KM Deluxe - +1 Razan Washable - +0Washability : Razan obviously is washable. The KM though is not.KM Deluxe - +0 Razan Washable - +1Price : I bought the Razan for $22 and the KM hose for $25. $3 isn't really a big difference, but I guess paying an extra $3 for IMO a better built hose is good with me. These hoses are decently priced for their quality.KM Deluxe - +1 Razan Washable - +1Comfort : Both of these hoses adds an extra comfort to a smoking session definitely. With the longer handles you no longer need to raise up your hand up to your face just to take a hit. I guess I'm just that lazy.KM Deluxe - +1 Razan Washable - +1Overall : IMO, both of these hoses are extremely good hoses. I would reccomend any of these two for any hookah smoker who would like to add that extra umph to their smoking sessions. BUT, I do prefer the KM hose to the Razan hose just because it's built better and that means it will last longer. Washability isn't really a big factor with hoses for me since I never usually wash my Razan even. So final score :KM Deluxe - 5Razan Washable - 4It's a close call, but the KM Deluxe wins this round.Note : Bought the Razan from mnhookah.com and the KM Deluxe from gothookahs.com
mitchard
Khalil Mamoon Ultimate HoseAppearance: Thick gauge hose, wrapped in cloth with arabic designs and words. Long handle (20 inches from tip of the mouthpiece to the bottom of the handle).Price: First one I got used for 15 bucks or so. New are $18 I believe.Durability: Feels sturdy. Despite the fact I think the handle is cardboard, it is strong enough not to give out when I apply a lot of pressure to it.Flexibility: Good movement. Gets wrapped up like a coil when you pull certain ways though.Length: 74", though one of them is a couple longer than the other Ultimate I own.Pull: Effortless. Much better than any other hose I have used, including the nammor. Much less restrictive than the standard KM hose I have aswell. Washable: No.Rating 9/10. Only downside of it is that is isn't washable. Would be a perfect score if it was. One more great product from KM. They are prettier than any other hose I have came across, and have a nicer pull than nammors (and I assume Razans as well).
ColibriDon
KM "AS" Hose Purchased From: HookahJohn.com for 21.99. Quality: Excellent. KM might have let their quality slip on some of the other hoses but this is amazing. Built like a brick shit house. Extremely solid. Pull: Effortless. The gauge on this thing is crazy. HookahJohn.com says it's about 7/8 of an inch. That's true. This thing is wide! Overall, this hose is amazing. I am probably going to pick up 1 or 2 more so I can have plenty to use for a long time. They're not washable but that's not a huge deal. I've only used it 4 times, so far, and there is almost no ghost flavor even though I've smoked Nakhla Melon, Pistachio, AF Mint, and AF Orange through it. It gets a 10/10. It's perfect. In fact, I'm torn about putting up this review because I know people are going to pick it up and there will be less for me to buy.

Sonthert
This is a paste and copy post regarding a combination including a KM supreme hose elsewhere in the reviews section. It includes a review of this hose, more about the hose after this review:Thamseh 28" Brass & Steel "Wheat" pipeKhalil Maamon 65" Supreme thread wrapped leather hose, medium kelly green, with green, white and gold thread Acrylic head and stem piecesKelly green/gold Egyptian jar from Al Amir distributor, circa 2007-2008, gold cross-hatch "argyle" designTangiers large phunnel bowlTangiers White GrapeCanary Japanese CoalsGeorge at Hookah Company gave me this shank to try, I needed a jar and looked through my old, used jars and found this one with a gasket already on it, tried the shank and it fit perfectly, so it became the jar for it, for the sake of laziness. Who says you can't believe in dumb luck? This is a new hose and a new hookah and the hose seems to be a little new and loose, as leather hoses will be. Overall, the effect from this dumb luck combination is absolutely beautiful in appearance. The hose, jar and shank kind of blend perfectly together. The tray is brass and reasonably large. The downstem of the shank is a brushed steel finish.Initially, the flavor was a little strange and off, as the first bowl with a new hookah and hose often is, it calmed down within five minutes and tastes the way I'd expect it to. The pull is quite liberal and feels like a 2007 KM. The ultimate hose is on the short side, but seems to be a competent hose, quite responsive, but not for smoking in a large group where hoses are passed around. Its only 65" (about 5 1/2 ft.) and the scepter and butt ends of the hose are slightly long, as to be expected from a leather hose, the overall effect on the hose makes for a fairly short flexibility and humping the hookah close to my knee, to get hose clearance. Its a little annoying, but the hose draws quite well on this shank. The shank itself is just mucked up enough in its finish to say its good looking, but not exemplary. There was a sharp burr on the bottom of the downstem and no ball bearing in the vent, but I remedied these problems fairly quickly (~10 minutes). The fold of stem over the taper on the top of the pipe is rough and looks like somebody took a rough hammer and mashed it down, partially splitting it, but not affecting the integrity of the main tube itself. It just looks a little sloppy, thats all.The draw on the pipe is overall quite liberal, not baggy or loose, but thick, solid and responsive. I would compare it to KM in terms of its draw, Its really quite good, its attractive, it hits well. The hose port is well made, solid, thick, angled fairly well, where some Egyptian hookahs have too flat an angle to their hose port or they're too thin or made from sheet steel.Make note, this shank was the "pick of the litter" of the Thamseh shanks, the heaviest, densest, most attractive one. Don't apply this Thamseh review necessarily to any Thamseh shank. A good number of them are less competently made.Thamseh Shank: 90/100 (finish is a little crummy)KM Supreme Hose: 92/100 (too short)Also, the jars from this shipment are unimpressive aside from some of the MZ jars. If I had to rely on one of the Hookah Company's jars, I would feel less favorably towards the overall attractiveness of the composition. This jar is from the high water mark of jars, with newer non-MZ jars being a disappointment by-and-large.The Khalil Maamon hose, 65" "Supreme", after the proliferation of crummy one-piece KM hoses is a refreshing treat. It lacks the carpet flavor of the "ultimate" and seasoned VERY quickly, in a few minutes, as would be expected from a good quality leather hose. Some of these hoses seem to have leather scepters and butts, this one being pleather. Overall, this hose is quite good and worth a try if you love, fat, responsive three-piece leather hoses. The thread wrapping is quite attractive and stands out in a sea of pleather or naked leather hoses. It is quite striking and attracts attention. As to the length. I have heard arabs say that too long a hose doesn't draw well, which makes some degree of sense. I have a Turkish leather hose that is quite fat and long (96") and initially it took a LOT of seasoning to get it to smoke well and it still draws smoke like a barn door. This KM hose is far, far more responsive than the Turkish leather hose and nominally better than the plain-Jane leather Khalil Maamon hose. This slightly shorter length might be the improvement. I like it. I will stop short of saying its my favorite KM hose ever...I would like to run it around a little more, but it is way, way up there in terms of my preferences. I cleverly secured 50 of them from George before he knew what hit him...I may have made the strike of month. Past Khalil Maamon thread-wrapped hoses have seemed to be made of much thinner leather and of poorer quality, but these are a marked improvement over them. If they had come out roughly the same quality of the past ones I have seen, my review would have been much worse.Edit: I upgraded the KM 65" Supreme from 92/100 to 94/100 just now94/

Sonthert
Past thread wrapped leather hoses from KM had exceptionally thin leather under the thread. These seem to have the same thickness of leather as regular plain Jane leather hoses. Good job.I've gotten 4 reviews of ones I've sold to people at the lounge, all 90-99/

lucky13
KM hose [attachment=4720:Hookah-Hose-KM-Sobek.jpg] ok here is my review on this hose, has very little pull, acrylic tips and a beautiful design. how ever my hose only lasted me 2 uses, when it broke i came to relise that the hose is nothing more than cardboard and a metal coil with nice acrylic tips on it. This is not my first, second or third hose, but my first review, i just purchased a nammor there will be a review on that sooner or later. none washable hose. i give this hose a 7/10 on pull 2/10 on life span 3/10 on length and 3/10 on the quality of the product over all i was satisfied with the hose, i did anticipate it not being the best. overall it gets a 5/
