The shapes and designs you see are raised. As the etched down the bowl around them then glazed it. Very Nice. Loaded up about 15g of Romman Ivory Coast and went to town. A couple people said theirs cracked, but not mine. Smokes as good as any other Egyptian, but much better looking. If you like Egyptian Style bowls this is one to get.
