Car Bomb Hookah?

Recommended Posts

So, I was at the tobacconist the other day, the only brand of Shisha they had was Starbuzz, and I noticed they had an Irish Cream flavor. I wasn't particularly interested in the scent of it alone, but I got the idea: Irish cream Shisha with Guinness and whiskey in the base to make an Irish car bomb flavor (Which is one of my favorite drinks). So, I guess my question is, as anyone ever tried this, or at the very least tried Irish Cream shisha? I don't want to spend $25 on a tin of Starbuzz (plus another $20ish on booze) for an experiment.

Perhaps there is more than one tobacconist store, I don't know, but are you refering to the one in northern virginia?

Doubt he's talking about the name of a store. Tobacconist is the correct term for someone who specializes tobacco and tobacco related products.

Most cigar shop owners would call themselves Tobacconists.

Tobacconist is a general term, but it just so happens that the one I went to is in fact in Northern Virginia, the John B. Hayes Tobacconist in Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax specifically.

I enjoy the taste of car bombs, and plain Guinness for that matter. Also, it does sound good with chocolate. I've made some other mixed drinks/shots involving Irish cream, so there is some other experimenting that can be done.

Hah. I knew it. If I were you I would never ever offer them my business. Every time I've ever gone in there they act like the most pompous dickheads. They snicker at my hookah interest and generally walk around like being a cigar smoker actually means something. Not only that but they mark starbuzz, their only shisha, up to 25 as you mentioned which is just heinous. Drive 10 minutes away down route 123 to Al Nahkeel and you can get it for 18 dollars with a much better attitude and selection. If you need help finding it just message me.

I've never tried SB irish cream, but I've had HH irish cream. It actually wasn't that bad for HH, which doesn't necessarily mean it's good though.

I don't like guiness, so I don't even wanna think about what it would taste like... but I imagine guiness would suck to clean out of a base.

Irish car bombs are gross, a good way to ruin a perfectly good guinness if you ask me.
also... who wants to drink cheese anyway?

LIES! ABSOLUUUUUTE LIESSSS

I'm not a huge fan of Guiness in the first place but I am intrigued by this idea, it might taste...interesting.

Go ahead and give it a shot and find out.

BLASPHEMY!

If you google the "milk" threads on here, 1) its a stupid idea, and 2) just add like a shot of milk to the base...thats it. So for your irish cream, 1) I'd use a small shitty hookah (mya acrylic or something), 2) add 2 shots of baileys for a large base to the water.
Smoke it add.

Repeat and add more shots as necessary.

Video it, so we can laugh or applaud you later.

Is it in Vienna? That's what Google came up with.

I've been in the Hayes tobacconist twice, once it was like what you described, but the last time I was there there were a couple oder guys who were actually pretty good to talk to.

If/when I do this, I'll let people know how it goes.

Yeah, it's in vienna. I'm glad you got similar vibes (I always want to believe that I'm misinterpreting stuff like that). I agree it seems like the older guys are nicer. Either way, don't buy from them, their prices are crap.

Not sure how old you are, but if you have any hint of being underage (I've got a baby face blush.gif ) they're going to card you, so be ready for that.....

Also, they've got awesome food at Al Nahkeel if you're looking for a place to sit down (no hookah smoking in the store though) Edited by Hookie The Hookah

if you guys are in vienna, just head on over to south george mason drive where it comes together with seminary road and go to fairouz... good smoke in the store, all the SB flavors and some other AF whatever, and its cheap like 10 bucks or less for a head.

The John B Hayes in Winchester, VA was nothing like that when I visited. The proprietor was super friendly and helpful, not snooty at all. (Of course, I was spending a respectable chunk of money at the time, so...) He told me to come back if there were any problems with my purchase, and he'd fix me up, offered me free grommets, etc...

He said that some folks meet in his lounge every Wed. night for a group hookah session. If they come back every week to hang out to smoke in there, he must get along okay with hookah folks.

But he does carry only SB and Fantasia, which doesn't appeal to me too much. I have to go an extra few miles to another shop to get a big variety of shishas semi-locally.

The other shop is in Stephens City behind Walgreens, and carries a LOT of different brands of tobacco, has 50-some hookahs to chose from (mostly cheap knock-off ones) , and racks full of hoses, windcovers, quad-bowls, and all manner of accys. But the lady stares at you suspiciously while you shop, and also carries a lot of NHT-looking stuff I don't even recognize. She's set up like a convenience-store / food mart, complete with drinks, gum and lotto tickets. It's a whole different atmosphere than the Hayes tobacconist with the polished brass scales and leather lounge chairs.

We have actually tried some thing like this at my lounge. We used SB irish cream and put murphy's stout in the base. Tasted pretty damn good actually but you have to use about 1/2 stout and 1/2 water or the stout bubbles up and into the body and hose.
