Time For A New Hookah!

Recommended Posts

So right now I have a Generic 3-hose Hookah from HookahHookah.com I bought it about a year ago and since then have smoked out of many different pipes and found mine to be one of the less enjoyable ones (Tough to draw from, auto-seal constantly gets stuck...it's a mess). Anyway, now with my birthday approaching (Turning 20) I have decided it's time to treat myself to something nice, A new Hookah. (Shh...don't tell April she's being replaced).

Anyway here's what I'm looking for and maybe you all could throw some suggestions up for me
1.Price: ~$150 or less
2.Hoses: 1 but preferably expandable to at least 2
3.NO AUTO SEAL
4.Carrying case: I'd really like one with a hard shell carrying case as I'm in college and move around a lot
5.Height not a Shortie but it doesn't need to be super-tall
6.Ice tray: not required or needed

Well that's what I have off the top of my head, let me know your suggestions of brands/models i should look into.

Thanks!

i would recommend one of the multihose hookahs by Khalil Maamoon.

also, a carrying case should be the last factor to look at. you can also get a decent hookah bag with padding for approximately $20.

they have some nice multihose hookahs by KM here: http://www.thehookah.com/khalil-mamoon-hookahs/

another option would be a multihose mya saray but i would go for a KM. its just a personal preference.

i have a syrian, Nour, MYA, generic, and just got a KM...the KM and Nour smoke the best out of all my pipes, but the MYA is a close second...

many of the MYA's are expandable as well, so you may want to keep that in mind...

Sorry to keep replying to myself but the guys in the chatbox have been most helpful. I've narrowed it down to two KM pipes

this one:

and this one:
http://www.thehookah.com/khalil-mamoon-3-h...ar-blue-38.html

weigh in now with your vote. Edited by dropkickdragout

If you are dead-set against autoseal, I think all Mya's are out, but I could be wrong there.

I just bought two KM's, have only had the chance to smoke out of one of them... but its wonderful. I highly recommend. I think you are on the right track.

Personally, not a multi-hose fan.. but not a lot of experience with them. I'd go with the Governor from HookahJohn... because of the single hose, and because dealing with John is great. No experience with HookahCompany myself, but hear they are a good, reliable vendor.

Its not hard to remove the ball bearing from the MYA autoseal, making them regular hookahs.

I know that you're pretty set on a KM, but I would recommend taking another look at the MYAs. hookah-shisha.com probably has the largest selection. The reason being is that they are much more portable and durable and if something does break, its very easy to get it replaced.

I have both and while I agree that KM smokes better, MYA is VERY close second.

All three vendors mentioned I've bought from, and each are great. Thehookah takes a bit longer in shipping to the east coast though; John has the best customer service of the three.

Looking at MZ's isn't a bad idea if you want to save some money.

IMO KM is the way to go. No exceptions!!!

Now I see you started off not wanting a large pipe.. But On the last post I saw you were considering a 38" Double pear (a beautiful Pipe)
You should take into consideration the cleaning of this pipe. especially if your in college and living in a dorm. Larger pipes can be a bitch to clean.

3 Hose KM, the double pear is a great choice. It smokes like a dream and is gorgeous.

The multi-hose KMs are great hookahs and I use mine frequently...honestly, it makes me regret buying the obelisk, the KM smokes better, was half the price, and is built well.

You can buy non-autoseal ports for Myas, as well as taking the bb out (although that doesn't fix the screw problem that makes nammors hella hard to put in there).

I have a paragon and it's GREAT!!! I like that it comes apart for easy cleaning.

If I were you I'd get HS' two hose acrylic Mya. Base is plastic and nearly unbreakable.

http://www.hookah-shisha.com/store/pc/conf...;idproduct=2773

Plus, if you order it and add an item under a dollar, use the code "free hookah" and you'll get this for free:

I have the Mya Acrylic "artoo" - and while it's a good smoke, it's my "last resort" piece. Smokes well, but is not worth being a $100 pipe. The mini free one isn't bad either and would make a great "traveler" hookah. If you're gonna by from HS - buy something other than the Acrylic artoo.

I see on southsmoke.come they have a nice selection of Mya pipes and i really like the "frost". i think its probably about the same pipe as the paragon but here's a link:

Yeah, looks to just be a blue base paragon in single hose configuration.

You can buy autoseal and non-autoseal ports to turn that bad boy into a 4 hoser. That's what we did (I have 3 myas and enough ports for almost every spot on all 3 hookahs).

Good to know. If you are going to get a Mya, I highly suggest getting it at Hookah-Shisha.

You get the free Acrylic hookah if you spend 100 bucks. It's a great little piece.

YO!

If you don't like the base pictured you can call and ask for them to send a different one, maybe even one you like that is pictured with a different hookah on their site so you can give them photo reference, usually vendors will work it out and it's worth a try either way.

More often than not you don't get the same vase/hose anyway.

Is the stock port on the paragon an auto-sealer?

If you buy a single hose configuration from H-S, it will not be auto-seal.

If you upgrade to multi hose, generally I think you'll get autoseals.
