Now Hear This! Trade Section Is Not For Auctions Or Raffles.

Recommended Posts

If you post something in the trade section you are trading or selling set a price or best offer. People posting things like mini-phunnels trying to see who will pay the most will NOT be tolerated.

Rules will be updated shortly.

One of my other forums has a really good set of trade rules. I will pm you them and you can see if you want to modify them or use them.

Edit I'm on my iPod I will pm you them when I getxout of school. Edited by outbreakpb

If you want to see how much you can get for it put it on ebay! Im sure you would see the bidding price sky rocket.

I don't see why this is such a bad thing? People obviously want them, why not let the man who will pay the most get it? Since they are so rare, it should go to the person who is willing to throw down the most money for it. Just my two cents.

Throw it up on eBay then.

As Zinite mentioned that is what sites like Ebay are for, doing it through these forums is completely unnecessary.

Ya that guy was not clever at all with his whole "im quitting hookah who wants to pay the most for my mini"? I told him if he was quitting I would want to buy his KM chiller in his sig, but "surprisingly" i never got a reply. Seems like if something good happens, people need to exploit it and get greedy from it. If you want people to bid on something you should go to ebay!

Sigh...... Mushy you're soooooooooooooo sexy when you're kicking ass and taking names!

Seriously though, I can't believe anybody would not approve of this.

As they mentioned above, Ebay is for that. IF we had an "auction" section then that would be completely understandable, but we don't, and I personally think one would be too much trouble.

If they really want to auction it, put it on ebay, and tell people about it.

Glad You got on this one Mush, I wasn't too fond of that thread

Oddly enough, I would probably trust HF strangers before I would eBay these days. Maybe you guys could get up an 'auction' subsection inside the trades area or something, for folks like me who would rather chew on foil than buy anything off eBay anymore. :edit : of course, auctions 'disguised' as trade / FS ads like the one being discussed would be a bad thing still. we dont need an auction. the trades here usually arent 10 people fighting over a 250g tub of tobacco. its a casual trading section for person to person trading. just my opinion though. on the other hand if 10 people were fighting over a tub tobacco on every thread maybe it would be good. wink.gif

I love it here but some rules are too strict, IMO. I would not sell anything on ebay anymore, because for every one genuine legit thing, there are 50 knock offs and bullshit items. I'd rather trust someone on here, but I do agree there should be a seperate forum for auctions and for normal sales

Im not intending to argue this with anyone, im just asking in general. Everyone who is afraid of ebay: You are aware that this is the reason that paypal and credit card companies have buyer protection right? If you dont feel like you got what you payed for, you simply get your money back. It was worked for me so far.

Im just gonna say that i think it would be far too complicated to add an auction section. I think its best to just leave trades and sales as x dollars OBO.

Yeah after you file a report, then PP/CC companies try to get in touch with them, and blah blah.. (wait a few weeks)...(frustration)... etc. I had to do this when I bought an xbox off ebay and never got it. I only got 50% of what I paid for back... Yeah you still run the risk of being scammed here, but if you pick someone that has a lot of rep at hookah forum, I highly doubt they will rip you off.

WHEN LISTING WTS/WTT:
1. When listing anything for sale an asking price is all but a must. If you dont want people breathing down your neck or giving you crap then I suggest you at least state 'X amount OBO'. Nobody wants to see 'KM Hookah for sale, best offer gets it'. If thats the case i'm going to offer you $10 and post telling everybody else to not offer you anything so I get it cheap.

I totally agree with you Mushy.

Ok, Joytron brought up a good point, If you are looking for a trade instead of selling something, then you don't have to list a price.

Thanks for pointing out I didn't think of that situation. Everyone is welcome to point things like this out to me, in fact, I appreciate it when someone does.
