smokeytheclown
A local cigar / wine store and smoke spot has recently added hookah to their selection. The brand of shisha is something I've never seen before, " Jewel ". Anyone have any info on this stuff before I plop down the $$? The flavour selection includes " banana" and " mixed berries " .Thanks, Count Smokula
SimplexCoda
Yeah Jewel, used to be a brand called Kamal, if i remember correctly. I have heard nothing good about it ever. I have no personal experience with it, but that seems to be the general idea.
Hookie The Hookah
I like it. Not sure what else to say other than the fact that each end of the shisha-review spectrum (awesome/terrible) is full of melodrama. If they have em in 50gs they should be ~2.50 so might as well see what it's all about.
inino
i have a free sample coming one of these months. but i have heard good and bad about it so i cant really tell you. maybe there is a review in the review section.

AKammenzind
Lots of cigar shops get in kamal because it's an ataldis product now I think. It's alright-ish stuff if you're in the mood for tobacco, it's basically like the phillies/white owls of plain shisha: cheap-tasting, not at all complex tobacco flavor, and a slight hint of candy-style fruit flavor. Zaghloul/Desi Murli dominate it on all counts for traditional tobacco, and the stuff doesn't hold its flavor enough to even be compared with other modern shishas. I think that about sums it up
r1v3th3ad
ya, its cigar tobacco...they still haven't gotten the flavoring down because you CAN taste the tobacco when smoking itits pretty decent stuff

I think that about sums it up gonna have to diagree a little with you. A real bowl of good tombac dominates over zag by alot. never tried desi though. Back in the middle east we smoke it alot and if you are looking for that compex taste tombac kills. Cant find an online site that carries the real stuff though, just that huge leaf stuff that is compressed like crazy and isnt packed with flavor. delSol_si
Jewel is no good for me. I found the stuff at a "discount smoke shop" in town. It was only a $2-3 for 50g which is cheap around here, so I picked some up. Waste of time and money for me. Taste was crap and smoke was crap. I ended up giving it to my roommate who smokes ciggs. If you DO decided to give it a shot, do NOT try apple/double apple, it is really horrible. I also tried their mixed fruit or whatever they call it, was a bit better, but still sucked. Giant Ninja Robot
where are all these positive reviews coming from? Jewels is HORRIBLE, I was sent 3 free 50g samples and tried the mixed berry, it was atrocious. I believe my description was akin to mildbananatobaccoberry. Please don't do it Smokey, inferior product. It smells like some combination between Powerade and raw sewage. Haven't smoked it yet.

Seeing as I haven't had it yet I can't really speak for tombac, so I didn't. You should give desi a try, though, it's fantastic and dirt cheap. Charley
oh there also the same company that makes Backwoods cigars and I think they use the same tobacco (Backwoods cigars taste great but I personally dont really think of them like cigars because they taste nothing like a real cigar. not sure how that tobacco will taste in shisha tho.) MrMoodz
The banana, honey, and grape flavors are Jewel's best in my opinion. It's not my favorite brand but I still have my samples from before and will smoke them from time to time. You have to be a fan of cigars to enjoy this one. Hookie The Hookah
Maybe I got a new or different batch or something, but my Jewels experiences have been nothing like cigars
