NimbleCow
..Mixing Nakhla DA with AF 2 Apples? What I would envision happening is a blissfully sweet licoricey dream of a smoke that provides endless white plumes of cloudy deliciousness. And improved heat resistance Anyone know the reality?
Tyler
heat resistance!? you play too much diablo 2! :-P haha but yeah i've mixed the same flavor in multi-brands to get the ideal and it turned out nicely.
chinamon
personally, i think adding AF 2apple to Nakhla 2apple would ruin it because there would be too much anise.

ilikemyusername
i mix AF and nak all the time without any problems, but i dont like DA, so to me that sounds ike one of the worst things anyone can do.
NimbleCow
Cool thanks for all the input. To me it was a solution to: Nakhla smokes better with added glycerin, and AF 2 Apples is drippy wet, so combined maybe they'll solve the problem without the downside of a glycerin taste. mitchard
Nakhla DA with glycerin. The end.
evilded777
I was so ready to mix some Nakhla Sweet Melon and AF Melon... guess this is the decider for me! Definitely give it a try.DA is iffy for me, some of them are good... some of 'em are meh. So not sure I would go through the effort for that flavor. But now I am thinking: Lucid Watermelon and AW Watermelon... or Romman Watermelon (one of the few Romman flavors I will pay their price for) and AW Watermelon. erufiku
QUOTE (NimbleCow @ Apr 15 2009, 11:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>..Mixing Nakhla DA with AF 2 Apples?Don't do it. I tried and it's a real failboat since AF DA makes the whole bowl taste like shit. Just add a bit of glyc. to the Nak DA and you'll be golden. Except for a few boxes most of the Nakhla I've had was very dry, so a medium phunnel lasts two hours tops. With glycerin it's more in the ballpark of 5 hours. NimbleCow
Seems like the Nakhla + Glycerine is the great debate. Those who add Glycerine: Do you suffer loss of flavor or addition of chemical taste? Also for the record I love AF 2 Apple. It is straight licorice but that's not a bad thing for me.Also--does Nakhla DA have a "born-on-date?" If you were at a shop could you pick the freshest one by looking at the outside of the pack?Cheers!

I haven't noticed any chemical taste when adding glyc. Make sure it's food/medical grade (USP). People also recommend adding a bit of honey to compensate for the flavor loss. Or agave sweetner (don't know the proper name of that stuff). As for the Nakhla boxes, I haven't seen a single one with a production date, but I haven't tried all their lines. Maybe they do it with the Mizo?edit: your love for AF DA is disturbing Wish I could find someone that likes this stuff around here, could avoid wasting the ~200g of it that I have left lying around. mushrat
We used to mix nak. 2 apple and Af esk apple. Called it 2 1/2 apple. Was tasty. The perfect 2 apple in my opinion was a jordanian brand called Sara. Honey based, smooth, the most ballanced apple/anise flavour I'd ever found. Too bad it seems impossible to find anymore. mattarios2
I get no flavor loss when adding glyc. But there really is no need to add glyc unless you want longer sessions and huuuge clouds. Big clouds are still attainable but with glyc it just makes it much easier for thunderous clouds. And there are no production dates on nakhla boxes.
