This is probably more of an issue with smaller, fly-by-night hookah sites but before you type in your CC info. Make sure the payment portal is really secure. I did a small test and he is still right. This company's pay portal is NOT secure.

I think I went to order from them once and went through the same thing. Emailed them, nothing but take our word for it. This was way back before I got here. Getting secure isn't just a flip of the switch but a lot of the learned people will notice and walk away, so it's worth the effort. Maybe they will learn some day.

Definitely, it's actually credit card company policy as well that any online company taking credit cards online must use a secure form for taknig credit cards. Surprised they haven't been fined yet by their credit card processor. Our company checks texashookah.com annually and then charges a huge fee for it haha

I once had the joy of developing a website in Cold Fusion for a company I was working for. I must have been really bad in my last life for being sentenced to that in this one, but I digress......

When launching the site I went through secure check-out programs. If something isn't Verisign, or Securesign, or someone I trust implicity like HC or HJ, I simply don't buy there. Though I do have friends that do something interesting financially...... They keep a wired plastic card strictly for online and other risky purchases. They wire the money onto the card which costs nothing depending on your online banking program and then use that card for the purchases. That way credit card purchases are entirely isolated from your regular banking financials. Reducing that risk is why PayPal is becoming more and more popular with merchants outside of eBay.

That is a very bad idea. If something is wrong with a vendor, it should be a function of this community to spread the word and keep other people from getting screwed.

Just another example of why restricting information and censorship is foolish and shortsighted.
