Anyone Wish The Mini Was Smaller?

You know you just may have come up with an interesting idea - or my creative mind got a flash from what you said or whatever...... Scalli, or Eric or whoever..... What if a smalll ceramic disk with a central funnel was made that could be dropped into any standard Egyptian bowl and convert it into a "micro" funnel.......????? Doable? And would people buy it?

Try a MNH mini glass. They rock; worth every penny I spent on it.

I've taken to using it exclusively for my evening smoke (except the weekend, which gets a small Tangiers phunnel).

Thats a sweet idea. I personally love the size of my mini it holds just the right amount of shisha for a good solo session. You can also stop halfway through and smoke the same bowl later.

The trick to that idea would be making sure you somehow have enough room below the phunnel inlay for proper airflow.

Perhaps if the outer edge of the inlay went a bit wider than the bowl you were to place it in? that would produce a good seal and in the process raising the actual shisha holding resevoir above the normal 4-5 holes of the egyptian thus guaranteeing all holes available will be utilized....the only drawback would be a slightly akward foiling process.

What flashed through my head was like a convex disk with the funnel in the center, so that effectively air from all 5 holes (standard configuration) would draw through the central funnel hole. I still don't know if it's a workable idea and it would definitely take a Scalli or Eric to produce it....... I'm thinking our resident masters might have tried and discovered wasn't worth it, but I don't know. I'd personally love it so I could convert any bowl immediately. Again - if it's workable.

I don't quite understand what you are talking about. Anything like this:

I am assuming not, but thought I would check, just don't quite understand. Btw, this mod did work really well, flavor was strong and smoked great. Then again, I acclimated 2x apple Layalina for like a week before smoking it. And, if someone did try to manufacture a mod for all the bowls, I don't think it would word very well since all handmade bowls are slightly different. Btw Eric, I apologize again for my ignorant response on the last thread like this one.

idk man i dont think mod bowls and whatever arnt that bad...i use them all the time and i have no problems....but yes funnels are so much better.....i got one of the mnh glass mini funnels and i get about 45-60 minutes out of it everytime..... and if i want a shorter sesh i have a small clay eygptian bowl that works great so i think mini should be left the same size because if you go any smaller i dont think it would really make any differance compared to a normal bowl

in my experiences if a flavor smells really strong, letting it sit out lets the flavor breath, making the flavor a little lighter.

glass mini holds about 15g. tangiers mini holds 30ish i think??

I don't know if the first paragraph was addressed to me or not, but I was using a Phunnel in the pic. And about the Layalina...I used to really like double apple Layalina, but for some reason now I can't stand it anymore, maybe they changed the mix or something, I don't know. But I bought a 250g tub of it from HC and it smelt like fuck, so I smoked it a few times anyway, then added some tasty puff to try to get rid of the crappy taste and it did no good, so I got pissed off and threw it on my desk and forgot about it. I let is sit for quite a while and every once in awhile I would notice is and kinda stir it around just as a "fidgeting" type of deal. Never cares enough to put the lid back on until recently when I took it to a friends place. So, in a since, it was an accidental acclimation.

Had a black licorice taste to it.

If you're referring to Tangiers phunnels, there is an additional consideration. If its handmade, there's only so small they can get...the width of one finger, before firing.

I love my mini, dont care if its bigger than it should be... its way smaller than my large phunnel.
