mattarios2
nakhla is far from flavorless, as long as it isn't an ancient batch like gnr said, if you aren't getting good flavor from it, try messing around with your packing method. Pack it tighter
Barnaby
I use my small phunnel, and I pack it in relatively tight.. I leave out the really big stems, but all the others go in. By tight, I put some in, and press it down lightly, and repeat until its alittle less tight than how it was in the bag, under the rim. I put my heavy duty foil on it, and poke 3 rows of holes with a kabob skewer all the way down. Then I make a 4th row using jsut the tip of the skewer, going around the inner hole. I DO NOT put holes over the main hole of the phunnel. 3 cocos, and I work my wind cover in, and I'm smoking like a champ. Tons of flavor, tons of smoke, no harshness, serious buzz. Its cheap, tasty, easy to pack, easy for heat managment. You can't go wrong. While I do like Tangiers, Nahkla has really become my go to smoke, as no matter what condition I am in, I can get a great sessions. Tangiers, sometimes becomes alittle trickier to get going near the end of a party.. LOLSeriously though, Nakhla is very much the more forgiving smoke when used with a phunnel. If you have had a bad session, my guess is you got a REAL old box that's stale. Most local shops that carry shisha, unless VERY popular, seem to never rotate the stock, and will often have old as shit boxes on the shelves. I've gotten some nak like this, so unless you know its a store that seems to move a lot of shisha, avoid it. Don't sprinkle it in. Pack that shit good, and put some heat on it. Nak can take it! Barnaby
Oh, and I dunno about you all, but I just picked up some Nahkla Mango the other day from a local store. That was the some of the juiciest shisha I've gotten. It was practically dripping.. Not as bad as AF, but close.. It was damn tasty too.
mattarios2
that's what im saying barnaby, the new nakhla is really juicy, ive been saying this for some time now, ALL THE NEW STUFF IS SOAKED!
Barnaby
Yea, I pulled it out of outer bag, and normally, I just get a little sticky. Almost though something was wrong when I got my hands all wet.. LOL.. I never had a problem with the moisture before, but now I'm really curious if Sweet Melon has been given the new treatment. I'm used to it being slightly dry, sticky at best, not dripping like the mango was. Do you know if its like that now and how it compares to the old? Wish I had a chance to know what the mango was like the old way so I could compare.

And while it does taste a bit tobaccoy, that's what nakhla tastes like..... it still has an amazing mandarin flavor. But yes, the new stuff is super juicy, but i almost wish i could get another box of dry dry mandarin because it has treated me so well. atticus
Tighter does seem to work better for me, but I agree, Nakhla is pretty forgiving. With the dryness, I don't think Nakhla puts expiration dates on its boxes, so sometimes it is possible to get ancient batches. If its too dry, you can always add a little veg. glycerin to it. That can help alot.
