SilverK
Just curious if anyone in the East Valley has found any stores that carry the GOOD hookahs, hoses, etc. and not JUST shisha. I'd just like to look in person at some good ones before I buy! Thanks.
larken
Hubbly Bubbly, in Tempe, sells very nice KM's and coconaras, along with some decent shisha. You should check them out, they are the only place I have seen locally that has high end equipment.

MrMoodz
The Station at 19th st and McDowell had $69.99 KM Amouras. I haven't been there for several months so I am not sure what he has in stock. Cafe Istanbul (Tempe), Nana's Gifts (Phoenix), Tobacco+ (Tempe), Open Sesame (Phoenix) also carry KMs.

questions
I would say that the store called kings smoke on broadway has some decent hookahs, but if you talk to Joanna, they can and will order you anything you want, especially any MYA, might take a couple of days, but hey, they are good people....the headquarters is also a good store, not a huge selection but solid and always changing...care and more in Peoria just ordered some KM's ( ok this is what they told me, so I can't be for sure)and It's all good(right on University) will help you...i am not sure on the inventory, but I would guess they can order as well...sit back and enjoy and smoke a bowl

Cute icon....I love San Diego but I don't think I can justify a trip...and if I COULD then I'd probably drop the cash on a big beautiful Mya!!My kiddo did the whole phone call thing to every hookah lounge/store here in the valley. Not one of them could say they carried any genuine Myas. Sad but true. I couldn't even get a straight answer on the washable hoses, because none of the vendors could say they knew the hoses were Grands (or equally high quality washable hoses).Sad! I figure the valley just doesn't get them shipped because vendors can't sell them. So I gotta go online...(and yes, this includes Cafe Istanbul. They got great shisha choices around here, but when it comes to name-brand hookahs and hoses, none can be found). So I'd rather go online to hookah-john than deal with a middle-man local retailer. AND he's matching the online price! And he's got larger trays, bowl, etc.Only thing I wonder is he claims the Mya hose is topnotch. MrMoodz
Glad I could be of help! Michael is very helpful and knowledgable about Myas. For a budget hose they are good hoses. I have 3 of them. If i'm not using my Razan hose I'm using a Mya hose. What kind of hookah are you going to use with the hose?

He's going to get the Mya Bambino tomorrow morning so I can go get it tomorrow. Woohoo! I'm going to use the Mya hose with my new Bambino that I'll get tomorrow, so it will be the original hose that it comes with. I was just thinking, since the hose reviews here list OTHER brands, that I might want to get a different hose tomorrow. Like a Grand (if he carries them). I DO NOT want cardboard, it's what I have now and I think it's already trashed. I don't know if the Mya's original hose is cardboard or washable. I'll find out tomorrow I guess, if Michael even knows, but I want to be ready to get a different/better hose if he happens to have one of the better rated ones. Nobody here in the reviews mentions Mya hoses as being top-rated ones. So I wondered....

SilverK
I thought this would be good to post here as well as a different thread I put it on. Hope that's okay...mods?For those of you who might visit here, or those who may travel to the east valley, and want shisha choices I've frequently visited the shops close to me in Tempe. Cafe Istanbul is okay of course, and their coal choices are the most of any shop I've been to, but their shisha selection isn't necessarily the biggest. Here's the recent scoop based on my visits the last few weeks:A&A on Southern & Mill Ave - 480.966.7300.These guys are great customer service and communicate clearly (i.e. language barrier is pretty small). What's SUPER DUPER GREAT is just this month they practically doubled their shisha stock by:(1) adding Fantasia (in 200 size) to their shop, and they will have the 50 size in a week or so; and(2) they increased their stock of Fusion (just raised price on 50's to $3.99) and they added A LOT of Fusion 250 flavors (and they even have huge buckets of some flavors that I guess is 2,000...but I didn't check to be sure). Their Fusion stock is the most I've seen at any shop I've been to: and(3) they are getting the Phoenix-based brand "Deja Vu" in stock soon. Basically these guys have practically doubled their shelves of shisha. Of course they have AlFahkher and some other brand I haven't tried. I've also been to both Coughing Canary shops (Ahwatukee and Tempe locations) and found their shisha choices are low. The Tempe store is never staffed with knowledgable people, but the Ahwatukee one is staffed by an owner named Steve. These shops are expensive. They have Fantasia, Fumari, a little Deja Vu, very little Fusion, very little Starbuzz, very little Al Fakher, and a lot of these little jars with white lids (can't recall brand name but they stink so I didn't buy), and they have that Hydro brand of crap. Basically I don't waste my time at either of these stores anymore, except if I hope to find a Fantasia or Fumari flavor. But Fumari is too freakin pricey at this place (but it's the only shop I've even found Fumari).Cafe Istanbul Their customer service is like playing roulette, but overall I've been happy except for the first time where I was shadowed like I was gonna boost some shisha. They DO have a lot of shisha of course, and they have the most coals (and in bulk) of anywhere I've been so far. If I remember correctly their shisha lines are: Layalina, Al Fakher, Deja Vu (the whole line in both 50 and 250 sizes), Starbuzz, Havana, and these little cardboard caps that are like pre-made shisha smokes. I've probably forgotten another shisha brand or two that they have...but these are the biggies I saw there.Okay, I'm done...I just figured I'd share some info since I've been hitting the shops close to me quite a bit to figure out what I like and where to get each shisha brand at the best price. MONEY WISE, Cafe Istanbul and A&A have the best prices overall. If any of my fellow Phoenicians have other stores to recommend then please do. I figure there are other ones out there that I'd like to check out if they are good sources! Edited April 24, 2009 by SilverK
Imsomint
There's a smoke shop at Southern and Val Vista right next to the the SafeWay (literally next door). I don't know the name, it just says SMOKE SHOP and I have not bothered to ask the name. When you walk in you are almost bound to trip over a shit ton of chinese hookahs. I have seen ONE Mya QT for $50 at one time, but that was about a month ago. It got sold apparently and I have not seen another MYA in there since. They also carry AF (pretty limited selection really) for like $12/250g and a wide selection of tubs of DejaVu for however much it's overpriced. I also get Exoticas from there for $10/box. Be warned, most of their shit is very expensive and the guy that's normally in there is kind of hard on English. For anybody that's interested, they have a hookah with a clock in it (YES, A FUCKING CLOCK).
