Voski
So for spring break I went to Palm Springs and I took my hookah with me. I set it up and everyone loved my hookah so there were no problems. I had my medium phunnel bowl with tangiers lucid tobacco. Now this is the part where I came to realize that so many people don't know what they are doing. One morning I woke up and saw that my hookah had been redone and was being smoked by morons. They had taken the bowl grommet off and they also forgot to put the stem to vase grommet on.Another time I had just packed a fresh bowl and we were smoking with some random guy that came to our place. I was gone for 15 minutes and I came back to see my bowl repacked with SB. I couldn't believe this guy dumped out over 50 grams of tobacco only after 30 minutes of smoking! When I told him that bowl had a good 4 hours left he said "But it was black". This guy ended up jacking all of our foil too =(.Another day I woke up to all of my passion fruit finished with a horrible bowl packed. To add to the destruction the mouth tip on my hose was broken and the handle was crushed!

Bookworm
dumbshits. I try to educate the people who smoke with me so that they can keep the smoke better. If they know when the bowl is too hot or too cold then it's easier to stay fresh on heat management.

Voski
The lack of sobriety and the fact that I was in super vacation mode didn't really allow me to guard dog my stuff.
joytron
ahhh, but remember we were all noobs once. Vladimir
My regular smoking buddy and I can do it like clockwork. For example, he will cover the bowl, but he will always hand it to me to poke the holes. He will put the ice in, but he always hands it to me to achieve the proper water level. It is a good team . Rani
As I mentioned some time ago in a thread, someone I thought I could trust was loaned a pipe. Never, ever, ever again will I let someone I don't consider my "hookah superior", like an Eric, Mushy, Scalli, etc. touch a pipe of mine. And even then I'm gonna keep a damn close eye on them. Luckily 99% of the people I know would never dream of touching a pipe without asking. They might ask to try and duplicate what they saw me do to learn, but they would never touch it without permission. Otherwise, they just ain't friends. Not negotiable.'Rani

To perfect using different brands, flavors, coals, etc is something any hookah smoker should strive for. I have two friends that I've taught extensively how to use a hookah and everything included. But even now they still ask my permission before doing something even as simple as the number of coals a bowl needs. But then again I have a friend I've tried to teach and he still doesn't listen lol.
Tyler
Most of my friends come to me, even with their own hookahs, because "when you set it up it just seems to smoke so much better." It's nice being looked up for something I'm so passionate about. Anything from flavors, brands, coals, holes, water levels, anything....It's also fun going in to a hookah bar and being able to know more about the products than the owner lol! redjako
I love it..I'll bring over my hookah, plus a empty corona box full of shisha with a coil burner, coals, cutters, etc.."Oh you use foil? Weird""Thats a weird looking bowl""Yeh I love hookah, starbuzz is the shit."*puff puff*"HOLY SHIT!"*puff puff**puff puff*"AHHH NO WAY!!!"*puff puff**puff puff**puff puff**puff puff*"This tastes so freakin good."Etc.Then I talk about hookah for an hour, the intricacies and OCD heat management and get everyone sick of hearing me lolz.AF Mint on a medium for 3 hours with hookah soap bubbles ftw.Tangiers horchata and a hot tub ftw. ColibriDon
I smoke with my roommates daily and neither of them touch my hookah...at all. The only thing I trust them to do is tear it down but even then I often come out to see my obelisk base sitting small end down on the edge of the counter. Terrifying. There is only one person who I trust to pack/light/manage my hookah and he doesn't even live in our apartment. Some people just have no idea what they're doing and don't care to learn--their loss. I think it's reasonable to assume that if somebody just asks one of us to teach them something, we would love to teach/talk about something we are all passionate about.
