I'm looking into possibly getting my QT stem powder coated. I've already had it quoted and the quote seems reasonable. Here is a website linking to the colors I have available to me. I can't justify it untill like a birthday present or something, but I'd like opinions.

http://www.figureengineering.com/ click on the "finish" submenu to see the colors applied to different objects.

I'm leaning towards black, seafoam, or pink as those represent my personal tastes most.

What'ya think? If you see a different color on the site feel free to nominate that.

yeah its safe I suppose. I looked it up online and it's heat safe. And if you look on the site the guy did the chrome black on his Mya pipe.

the base is currently green but i might go buy a red one. I'm torn between getting black/cream as it will go with whatever color I want or going with my gut and getting pink or seafoam.

Stuie I saw a vote for pink and knew it was you lol. Pink would look badass with the green base I have.

the black chrome thing sounds pretty cool. however my few years of art courses taught us that complementary colors are very visually appealing. if you said you had a green base right now, an orange powder coating might look pretty BA. just my 2 cents and ofc pics when this thing is painted delightful.gif

I was thinking about the orangish one too.

Let's put it this way, I got the pipe for 20 bucks no shipping and having it done will put it at about the normal cost of a QT with shipping.

The only reason I asked is because when I use to be in Motorcross for quads we all use to be into powdercoating for frames and the A-arms for the quads. I know the process for it. I mean its a cool idea and yeah its pretty hard for powdercoating to chip but its still can chip. Powdercoating is done by a heating process in like a oven..

Just giving you a tip, dont want you to become ill!

Screw powder coating.

I'd get either Cerakote or Duracoat, and do it yourself. They're both ceramic coatings, I've used both for coating firearms with fantastic effect. Duracoat has more and prettier colors, Cerakote is more durable.

It's got a brass core which leads me to think it has a chrome finish, def not aluminum.
